For example, I purchased a new Ashley bedroom set a few years ago and the finish on the wood was so poorly done that it would literally rub off on your hands at the slightest scrape. It took a tube of furniture touch-up to keep it looking decent. The only reason I didn't return it was because it was purchased to stage a home for sale and was going to be sold off at the end. I wouldn't say we're picky about furniture -- we're probably much more practical than anything else -- but at our age (50+ and the kids are mostly grown and out of the house) we're looking for reasonably priced furniture that looks good and won't fall apart in a couple of years.

We moved from North Carolina, land of fabulous furniture and I was stunned by the lack of furniture choices here. There is a store on N Oracle called Razmataz, some uber decorative and rustic pieces, one nice store connected to Oak-n-More (), otherwise Levitz rules the town. Craigslist here is pretty slow and some chronic overposters continue to put their literal junk finds up daily so it is tiresome to plod through it. Sorry to seem so down, but with more than a million residents the lack of shopping options is one MAJOR gripe I have about moving here. BTW, I have a fabulous large high end solid QUALITY entertainment center & L-shape corner desk set that we are looking to rehome after downsizing- if you need anything like that DM me!
