Rents in Bellevue have grown by 4.4% in the past year and increased by 1.7% over the past month. Kent: Kent is the 6th most expensive city for renters in the metro. Median rent prices in Kent are at $1,360 for 2-bedrooms and $1,160 for 1-bedrooms. Rents grew by 2.2% over the past month. Everett: Everett has the 7th highest rents in the Seattle metro. 2-bedrooms there cost $1,330, while 1-bedrooms run $1,080. Everett rents have grown by 1.0% in the past month. Tacoma shows the fastest-growing rents Tacoma: Tacoma rents have grown by 9.9% in the past year, the most growth of any city in the metro during that same period. 2-bedrooms in Tacoma have a median rent of $1,250, and 1-beds cost $1,060. Kirkland: Kirkland shows the 4th fastest-growing rents in the metro, at a 5.4% increase over last year. 1- and 2-bedrooms in Kirkland rent for $1,680 and $1,930, respectively.

Apartment List has released results for Seattle from the second annual Apartment List Renter Satisfaction Survey. The survey, which drew on responses from over 30,000 renters, provides insight into what states and cities must do to meet the needs of the 105 million American renters nationwide.“Seattle renters are generally satisfied with their city overall, with most categories receiving average or above average ratings” says Andrew Woo, Director of Data Science at Apartment List. “With rents rising especially in coastal cities, it comes as no surprise that cost of living is a source of dissatisfaction here.”Key findings in Seattle include the following: Seattle renters gave their city a B+ overall in satisfaction.
The highest-rated categories for Seattle were access to public transit (A) and local jobs and career opportunities (A-). Renters seem to be generally satisfied with things like safety (B-), commute times (B-), and access to parks (B+). The biggest sources for dissatisfaction here are the quality of local schools (C+) and affordability/cost of living (F). Millennials seem to be pretty well satisfied with the city, giving it an A- overall. Seattle was relatively on par for renter satisfaction with nearby city Portland (B) but fell behind other similarly-sized cities like Denver (A-). The top rated cities nationwide for renter satisfaction included Arlington, VA; The lowest rated cities included Newark, NJ; “Overall, Seattle is great.
