Thoroughly cleaning plastic lawn or patio furniture at least once per year keeps it looking good. Cleaning it right before winter storage is a good idea to ensure dirt and stains do not sit on the pieces for months on end. To give plastic furniture a thorough cleaning, mix 1/4 cup dishwashing detergent with 1 gallon of water. Scrub the furniture down with a cloth or a brush taking care to rinse the furniture completely to remove any remaining soap residue. For tough stains, adding OxiClean or bleach to the soap mixture is effective.
For simple dust build-up, rinsing the furniture with a garden hose often does the trick.
