Vancouver is an enlightened city with excellent information and facilities for people with disabilities. Most buildings, public transportation and visitor attractions are accessible. Buses are equipped with ramps for wheelchairs and the SkyTrain and SeaBus are also accessible. If you’re driving a car, the city has increased the number of parking places for people with disabilities. If you have a disabled parking permit, it is valid in Vancouver. If you’re flying to Vancouver, accessible taxis are available from Vancouver Taxi to take you from the airport to your destination. The Canada Line light rail service between the airport and downtown Vancouver is also wheelchair accessible. All public buses from the airport are wheelchair accessible. Take the bus from the airport to Airport Station and transfer to the #98 bus for downtown. The best resource for information about access to Vancouver attractions, activities, parks and buildings is the city of Vancouver’s Accessibility page which you can read about here: http://vancouver.ca/accessibility/
