Every effort has been made to provide helpful services and accessibility for all of our visitors. The parking lot has many accessible parking spaces. Parking is free for disabled patrons supplying proof of a disabled placard. Our Main Gate is accessible to all. Accessible routes and exhibit areas are indicated on the Zoo map, which can be found at the Main Gate. A special passenger car on the Little Puffer miniature steam train is designed to hold a wheelchair. A special sand box is built high enough for wheelchair approach in the Meerkat and Prairie Dog exhibit. Our daily rental options include ECV ($35), wheelchair ($15), single stroller ($10), double stroller ($12). They are available at the Main Gate on a first-come, first-served basis. We are unable to take reservations.

We have several restaurants offering a variety of food choices - from standbys such as hot dogs and hamburgers, to salads, sandwiches, soups, Asian specialties, healthy snacks, and vegetarian choices. Snack and beverage carts are also stationed around the Zoo along with picnic tables and outdoor seating. When seated outside, please beware of hungry seagulls. The Leaping Lemur Café provides an indoor/outdoor dining experience and is located in the center of the Zoo between the Thelma and Henry Doelger Primate Discovery Center and Flamingo Lake. A variety of international foods are served, including gourmet sandwiches and salads, Asian specialties, pizza, hamburgers, and chicken fingers. A variety of beverages are offered, including local beers. We can also host your birthday party at the Leaping Lemur Café. The Station Pizza Parlor The Station Pizza Parlor is located near the Little Puffer steam train depot and has outdoor seating overlooking the bear exhibits and Eagle Island.




Adjacent to the spectacular new Elinor Friend Playground, the Caf Playfield offers kid-friendly meals and snacks that will keep everyone's energy up for a full day at the Zoo. We use all locally sourced produce, we serve organic fair-trade coffee, and all of our sandwiches are served on fresh bread directly from Boudin Bakery. Trying to find that special something for the animal lover in your life? Check out our fun shops for a wide variety of animal-related gifts, toys, plush friends, and apparel. You can feel great about your purchase because it will help support conservation programs at the Zoo. The Wildlife Connection Shop is located at the Main Gate of the Zoo, so you are free to shop there prior to entering the Zoo. There is also an ATM available inside the store. If you have lost a personal item at the Zoo, please contact the main office on weekdays at (415) 753-7080. All items that are not claimed within 30 days will be donated to Goodwill. If you have found someone else's personal property, please turn it in at the Main Gate or give the item to any security staff member.
