Now two new developments are taking luxury living up a notch with one offering an Uber waiting room and another providing a delivery robot plus a wellness room for on-call non-surgical procedures such as botox.

The Ten Thousand apartment complex in Los Angeles will offer a service delivery robot – called CHARLEY- as well as a room for on-call minor medical procedures such as botox. The Santa Monica Boulevard complex will feature 283 two and three-bedroom units spread over 40 floors. Each will have a private balcony, hardwood flooring, three-metre high ceilings, glass sliding doors, quartz benches and Bosch appliances. The building’s amenities include three exercise studios, a massage and spa treatment room, pools, pilates room and an exam room for on-call appointments with external medical professionals. A spokesperson for the development told realestate, com.au that residents will be able to see their own doctors in the wellness room where non-surgical procedures such as botox injections can be performed. There will also be a technology concierge, an app for residents, private wi-fi networks and a robot. Built by Savioke, CHARLEY the robot can deliver meals and packages to residents.

The model has previously been used in hotels but this one has been programmed to handle the building’s unique layout and its makers claim it can operate lifts without human help. Residents can access the services that CHARLEY offers through the building’s app or using the iPad minis that each unit will have installed.  A team of butlers will then load CHARLEY up with the goods required for each order. The building will also have a restaurant, private dining space, private screening room, two boardrooms with video conferencing, a kid’s studio, games room, private poolside cabanas, heated outdoor eating areas, fire pits with an outdoor cinema-sized screen, terrace garden areas, a tennis court and private instructor, plus an 185 sqm dog run. There is also a bicycle room, bicycle valet, garage, pet spa with a dog washing machine, grooming tools and a staff of 60 to tend to the needs of residents. The luxury hotel-esque services on offer which may attract additional fees include private drivers, car refuelling, electric vehicle recharging, personal trainers, dog walkers, pet grooming, salon services, interior design consultations, personal stylists, child care, personal shopping and access to massage therapists, nutritionists and acupuncturists.

Rental rates for the development will reportedly start from $US8,500 a month all the way up to $US40,000 a month. The development is currently in the final phase of construction. Why wait for your ride on the street when you can wait in a dedicated room for your Uber driver? Welcome to The Vintage development in Washington DC, where amenities for residents include a bike room with spare electric cycles and a repair station, a games room, a concierge, a 24/7 fitness centre and a rooftop deck with a BBQ area. The development also welcomes cats, dogs and other pets and it has a dog run to exercise apartment-bound furry friends. As there is no parking on site, the building has a dedicated 24 sqm Uber waiting room with a TV and a viewing area for those using ride-sharing apps. Valor Developments, who are building The Vintage, say the Uber waiting room will also have a TransitScreen offering up to date information on other transport options, as well as magazines and the like to keep residents occupied while they wait for their ride.
