A resurgence in the incidence of bedbug infestations across the nation has led to an increased focus in state legislatures on this pest. Bedbugs, which can take up home in clothes, beds, couches and other upholstered items, are not known to carry disease. They can, however, cause rashes and allergic reactions. Many state legislatures have laws on the books addressing bedbugs that date back to the early 20th century. Since the recent rise in bedbug infestations, other states have passed laws to address this pest. To date, 22 states and one territory have laws addressing bedbugs. These address bedbug infestations in rental properties (Arizona, California, Florida, Nebraska and New Hampshire); hotels (Alabama, California, Kansas, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, South Dakota and West Virginia);
institutional facilities (Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin); schools (New York and Utah); and migrant labor camps (Iowa, Nevada and Pennsylvania). Arizona, Kansas and Texas list bedbugs as public health nuisances. Rhode Island requires commercial pesticide applicators who use restricted pesticides to kill bedbugs to carry proper certification. 7700 East First Place 444 North Capitol Street, N.W., Suite 515We were in Manhattan on a vacation trip and I forgot our bag with money, credit cards and important documents in the room in last day!! I called the hotel from the airport and friendly staff help me gently and post them to us completely. They make our trip great than ever. We loved this hotel. The location is amazing you are literally on Times Square. The room was clean and comfortable. Never saw what the older style bedrooms are like but buy the sound of it we were lucky we had the refurbished room. Although so close to Times Square we never had any problems sleeping. Too tired from the sightseeing. All the staff who worked here were lovely. We have stayed here many times for the best location in New York--right in Times Square, the large newly renovated rooms, the bright marble and mosaic tile bathrooms, the warm welcoming attentive staff, and great friendly service. Greeted by smiling knowledgeable personnel, and escorted to a brand new sleek sophisticated room with super WIFI and lots of lighting and powerports, you find a terrific gym and business center on the 2nd floor.
Tremendous value in a pricey city. This hotel has a great location in Times Square, the rooms ARE big and beautifully decorated. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend the Hotel Edison, and we will definitely be staying there again! We will never stay anywhere else again. The Edison gave us that old Hollywood vibe, while still feeling elegant and modern. It's an achievement of a place to be. My daughter and I have stayed at the Edison many times over our 17 year mother daughter trips to NY and were not disappointed this time either! Great location for the shows and eating stores as well as shopping. Can't wait till the next trip next year! Great hotel in a great location! So close to Broadway shows and any transportation you could want. stayed in a signature room on the 18th floor, was all brand new with a large shower and even a Kuerig! Staff is very friendly and efficient. Have been staying here for 9 years now and already looking forward to next trip.
Headed to the city with couples for a last minute weekend visit. Hotel staff was great - very friendly, fast check-in, room was very clean and cozy! Staff have great tips on enjoying city. Definitely would recommend and hoping to come back soon! I have always loved the retro feel of this hotel. And even better, on some nights there is a free wine and cheese reception in the gorgeous sitting area in the lobby. Hate to recommend this hotel because I thought it was my secret weapon the NYC. “Waldorf Astoria For The People”. Don't stay in a major chain if you are visiting NY. This is a truly authentic NYC establishment that won't disappoint. My family have stayed at the Hotel Edison twice, and we absolutely loved it. The hotel is situated right on times square, in the very centre of New York; a short walk (or even shorter tube journey) from the Empire State Building, Broadway, Central Park, Macy's, The Rockerfeller building. The location literally couldn't be any better for experiencing this wonderful city.
I have to say my experience with Edison Hotel was excellent, one of the best I’ve experienced. Friendly staff, nice rooms, superb location, couldn’t be better. We arrived on Saturday 11.30pm, welcomed with warm greeting. Service was very good and we were asked how our travels were. The room was clean and contemporary, looked freshly renovated in a nice slate grey. This is my third time staying at this hotel. The staff went over and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. It's a half block from Times Square. Felt very safe in this area. Lovely hotel, staff very efficient. No massive queue at reception. Great location just off Times Square. The rooms were immaculate. Plenty of clean fresh towels every day. The staff delivered services that were above and beyond what we expected from such a great location! Just an amazing stay. The room was spacious by Times Square standards, especially given the pricing. The room was immaculate and well maintained by the housekeeping staff each morning.
