My daughter is now feeling tired and drained and working long hours and her immune system is just not great. She's been to the doctor more times in the last year than in 10 previous years. The last 2x she asked for a B12 shot and the doctor won't give her one. Guess asking for one is a no no. They probably think you're a freakin druggie if you want to feel good again and ask for it by name. People, because of their conditioning, tend to assume that anyone in a position of authority (and yeah, in a weird way a moderator on little CDF is in a position of authority) is somehow more knowledgeable. This is an erroneous assumption. People often supplement with Vit B (complex, 12, etc., etc.). I used to receive vitamin injections. I found them very helpful. The magnesium (i think it was the magnesium) in the injection was extremely relaxing. Originally Posted by coyoteskye There's magnesium in the shots? The shot is $25 at HEB clinics, no perscription necessary. I have rheumatoid arthritis and constantly feel drained, perhaps this will help? Well, I think the point she is making is that a vitamin deficiency is rare unless your diet is extremely restricted.

However, in some cases, such as chronic illness, medications, etc, when vitamin deficiencies can occur. For example< I take methotrexate, which causes a deficiency of folic acid. I take prescribed supplements of folic acid to correct that. Originally Posted by DreamWeavin I didn't need a perscription for a B 12 shot, they just gave it to me at a local urgent care clinic. Even after they redid the front area and gave the interior a facelift, still they havemthendirtiest bathroom, and that front area seems to attract the overflow of homeless people from the SC Roasting Co. across the street. same old same old globally available coffee experience with no local flavor. far better to cross the street and to the Santa Cruz Coffee Roasting Company. This joint offers the same GMO coffee served at every other location.

However, this particular one is a bit under the weather when it comes to cleanliness.Keep walking to LuLu's just a block and a half down Pacific. They have incredible coffee and delectable treats - set in a dark, cherry wood, exposed brick cafe. Reminds me of Europe. If you like a variety of coffee this is the place. They have free wifi and if you like Starbucks this is as good as any. I'm sorry that so many people go to Starbucks in downtown Santa Cruz when we have Santa Cruz Roasting Company right across the street and Peet's a block away. The shop is centrally located in the shopping district on Pacific Avenue. I've been to the restaurant several times. It's a typical Starbucks with all the usual coffee and tea drinks, salads, sandwiches and sweets. The courtyard in front of the restaurant is pleasant; it's a nice shaded area where you can get out of the sun... I am generally not a fan of Starbucks yet this store is a reserve store. They prepared my coffee from the beans I wanted and the way I like them prepared.

What a nice cup of coffee.. I generally rate Starbucks Very Good if it's a typical Starbucks with predictably decent coffee, and this one is in that category. It is set back a bit from the street, with a small garden-type area in front of it, so do keep your eyes open so as not to miss it. This Starbucks is downtown so parking is a bit of a challenge (for a person not familiar with area) they do have a nice outside patio and the baristas were very nice The place is set-back from the street - a small cosy place but busy. We, a group of three friends, had gone on a Saturday afternoon for some coffee & conversation. We had cake slices, cake on a stick, black coffee and cappuchino. We prefered to sit inside, but there was outside seating. The service was swift. What is the difference between HIV and AIDS? HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus. A person infected with HIV can carry the virus in their body for months or years before they begin to show symptoms or get sick.

HIV attacks the immune system and prevents the body from fighting off different infections and diseases. AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is the name for the condition people develop after getting one or more of the serious infections connected with HIV, or when blood tests show that their immune system has been very badly damaged (T-cell level count under 200). Scientists still don't know how long it takes for a person to become sick and develop AIDS after getting infected with HIV. I’d like to get tested for HIV. What should I do? There are two forms of HIV testing available. HIV Testing Sites in Santa Cruz County I’ve heard that I can get tested without having my blood drawn. The OraQuick ADVANCE Rapid HIV-1/2 Antibody Test device is currently being used at testing sites offered through the Santa Cruz County HIV Testing Program. A flat pad is placed above the teeth against the outer gum. You must gently swab completely around the outer gums, both upper and lower, one time around, using the flat pad.

Once the oral fluid specimen has been collected using the flat pad, the test device must then be inserted into the vial of developer solution. The ADVANCE specimen collection device is more than 99% accurate and the results will be available in 25 minutes. There will be no visible sign that someone has been tested and the specimen collection is painless and involves no needles. How can I protect myself from contracting HIV?
