Vintage & Second Hand, Walking into Littlest Vintage feels like walking into an American 60's home with owls, deers, leather and old wooden cabinets scattered throughout the shop. Floor to ceiling is covered in everything from new made to look old and genuine vintage articles. Most importantly these guys completely under price everything in store.I am amazed at the quality of furniture and homewares here and the bargains that can be found. It has also some of the best range of unique female items of clothing from skirts to dresses and shirts, nothing would be over $40.Every week or so the shop front window changes and the inside of the store is constantly changing too based on the product available.Sometimes I wish some of the items in store were for sale like this awesome fluoro pink coin operated children's elephant ride they have in store, but beggars can't be choosers!These guys don't mind a bit of negotiating on price too. There is always a couch, shelving unit and strategically placed crockery set on a coffee table in the window. It amazes me how well priced everything is in store, but I would argue that they have better prices on some products at Aus Red Cross Store on Rundle St.Salvos range of clothing is not amazing but they do have a great collection of homewares, random art pieces, books that tell you how you microwaving or slow cooking your dinners is the rage and a small selection of jewellery.The service in store is slow and not really the most attentive, but for volunteers they don't do a bad job and they are always friendly.I probably wouldn't go here for "vintage" pieces/finds but it is always good for a browse and a quick cheap clothing purchase or small item to add to the home.It's not quite a mega-store but I would hardly call it a minor one either. This Salvo's is a great spot to find your next tacky 70's party outfit or brown 80's style glass jug to add to the collection. You know those scraggly old shopping trolley cat ladies, who collect other people's random junk off the street?
I think I have been reincarnated from one of them.To me old stuff is by far superior than new stuff. The more de-stressed and ugly retro a chair looks, the happier I get. If I can get a near new filing cabinet for half the price in olive green, then I know I'm having a good day. And so it goes that every time I enter Hindmarsh Disposals I enter my happy place.Near new and near eras I wasn't even born in are all represented here. There is a particularly large amount of crockery and glassware from the 70s and 80s for $1-4, chairs, side tables, bed headboards and cupboards from the 60s and 70s are well represented and so are filing cabinets. My hipster dream is to make a table out of an old door and for $60-90 you'd walk away with a glass pane, wooden door that needs little restoration. Actually, hardly anything here needs much restoration - this isn't a junk yard after all.Be prepared to rummage as everyone says, but also know that this isn't a Freedom showroom for a reason. You're not paying to have a manikin show how to touch a lamp here and that's why it's cheap.

You are bound to find a vintage Holden sign or old record through to a brightly coloured collection of aluminum tea and flour canisters for nix or for half the price of even IKEA furniture you can get something that was built in the day when things were made to last more than 6 months and didn't require an Allen key to assemble.
