Welcome to Glasgow Architectural Salvage new site Basil Brush Lace Pattern Large Decorative Cast Iron... It is our aim to be Scotland's premier Architectural Salvage company and we have commissioned this web site to make it easier to track down that particular rare addition to your home, project or development. It is our intention to keep this site up to date with all the great finds we come across, so you can see them as soon as possible. We have built a database of our stock and created an easy to use menu to help you to track down what you're after quickly. As time goes by our website will contain a broad range of our stock, but with new items arriving daily, there's always much more available in the warehouse/storage or awaiting renovation. We will also maintain an online archive of items that have passed through our hands. This should give you an idea of varying types and styles of our stock. If you find anything there you like, we will keep an eye out in the future and contact you if we find something matching your requirements.

We hope you find our site as useful and exciting as we do, and now you know it's going to keep changing, that you'll come back often. Apologies in advance if you don't get an instant reply to any queries, it sometimes takes us 2/3 days to get a chance to check stock & answer emails.Glasgow Salvage added 4 new photos. As makeovers go this one really has the wow factor! These fine chimney cans were made by J.& M. Craig, Fire-Clay works, Kilmarnock and came from a property circa 1840. A fine example of Kilmarnock's Industrial past and plain for all to see if you take a moment to look to the rooftops. This large Victorian fire surround we supplied with the original finish really works well in this room and sets off the newly fitted stove beautifully. Cheers ScottGlasgow SalvageIts been pretty Hot and Steamy here at Glasgow salvage working in this weather, so much so that I've had to work with my boiler suit peeled of my rippling torso, just like the bloke in this old add I found under a carpet recently. Cheers ScottGlasgow Salvage added 3 new photos.I've been away for a few days working in an old house in deepest Donegal and I just had to share the vibrant green stairs and the remaining wall decoration we uncovered.Cheers scottGlasgow SalvageThankfully my vintage brick obsession is now under control with help from Dr Adam of Paisley. He's a great listener! Cheers Scott.Glasgow Salvage added 3 new photos. This is without doubt the finest Victorian door and frame we have ever salvaged with the original finish and decoration all intact. The ghostly figure in the picture is Stuart who claims that there is a magical world beyond where he was a king and didn't have to wear a boiler suit!

About Glasgow Architectural Salvage What is Architectural Salvage? The concept of Architectural Salvage has been around for some time now, as people recognise the superior quality of the fittings & fixtures that were once so common in the properties of the past.In the modern standardised world of mass production, it can be almost impossible to find doors etc. of the right size & style to suit an older property. Other fittings such as fireplaces, lighting & door furniture are equally as hard to source. The quality & individuality that was once expected & commonplace is often lacking in the modern equivalent. This, together with the realisation that original features can enhance & also be an investment in the value of a property, is the concept of architectural salvage. We have a keen, if amateur interest, in Industrial Archeology & are concerned with the general lack of recycling within the building industry. As a company of equal partners, we are all able to indulge our own specific interests, be it 1950s plastic handles, kitchen ranges or the joy of welding. This gives each of us the enthusiasm & impetus which comes along with never knowing what the next day will bring. At G.A.S. there's always something happening & several works in progress, & we're keen to keep this dynamic air to our warehouse. While our products are for sale as displayed, we also offer added services for example: Doors can be stripped. Where Yale locks etc. have been fitted, we can expertly patch them with matching timber. Radiators can be tested & fitted with modern fittings, blasted, primed & topcoated if required.ServicesWe buy salvage for cash and will visit and offer you a fair deal usually within the week almost anywhere in central Scotland. Though we're not coming all the way to Castle Douglas for a door knob you understand!
