A Project of the American Bar Foundation Co-Directed by Rachel F. Moran and Robert L. Nelson2:00pm – 4:30pmManchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, 1 Market Place The Latino population is currently projected to account for nearly 30% of our nation’s population by 2050. As a result, the future of Latinos in the United States will significantly shape the prospects and wellbeing of the country as a whole. At present, there are significant disparities between Latinos on the one hand and Whites and Asian Americans on the other as measured by indicators like rates of educational attainment, median income, median wealth, and political participation. The purpose of this program, like that of the project overall, is to imagine the different futures of Latinos that are possible by 2050. Our goal is to identify mistakes we cannot afford to make as well as opportunities we cannot afford to miss. This program is co-sponsored by the ABA Center for Racial and Ethnic Diversity, ABA Commission on Hispanic Rights & Responsibilities, ABA Commission on Immigration, ABA Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession, ABA Commission on Women in the Profession, ABA Diversity & Inclusion 360 Commission, ABA Young Lawyers Division, ABA Section of Civil Rights and Social Justice, .
