TarunI used to think that our brains had touched
—
During some drunken stupor in early June
As the sun peeked out from behind
Behind that grimy skyline
I grabbed your hand and our bodies swayed backwards
To be caressed by the railings
Fingers intertwined, laughing
And we laughed as we walked in through the dawn
And I slipped some witty remark in between about your past
Like it was a joke
I could tell you were flustered
Because of the long silence
Your smile came back soon after
And then I led you back home
You plucked the marlboro from my mouth as we fell to the bed
Took a drag
And we ripped each other’s clothes off
One hot minute after the other
I told you that I loved you
And then we forgot each other
