There’s so much violence in this world. Too much. Sometimes you need to stand up to oppression. Even when you are in the right, it hurts to speak your truth. You don’t want to cause pain or suffering to anyone. I don’t want to. That is why anger is so difficult to express. Words hurt, especially those spoken with pain. When you express your pain, it multiples. Once the recipient hears harsh words, the pain they incur at your expense becomes even greater for you. That’s what makes addictions so appealing. If we hurt ourselves enough, we don’t need to focus on the pain because we become pain.
