The 20 second Miracle Mattress video opens with three people standing in front of two stacks of mattresses. The advertisement says mattresses will be on sale for the price of a twin mattress. Two men are then “thrown back” into the two stacks of mattresses, causing them to fall over.At the end of the video, the woman is then heard saying, “We will never forget.”Jenee Lewis shared the video on the KSAT 12 Facebook page. She said that she saw the video Thursday morning and that she was angry and disappointed."I watched it and it just instantly just struck a nerve," she said. “It really upset me. I felt like people really need to know that this is not okay.”Lewis is from a military family. Both of her grandfathers served as chief master sergeants in the U.S. Air Force. Her father retired from the U.S. Department of Defense."That was an attack against her country, and it hurts my heart for the people who perished and the families that had to go through that," Lewis said.Lewis also said she was upset that company only apologized for offending people but not for making the video.

She also wondered, “At what point does someone not say this is a good idea?”On Facebook, there were numerous requests to boycott the business. One person on Facebook said, "Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea from the start? Playing off the worst national tragedy in American history to score customers is low."Miracle Mattress posted an apology on its Facebook page saying in part:“To all of those who have seen our 9/11 sale. We are very sorry we have offended you. Our intentions were not to hurt anyone at all.”"Timing is pretty bad. We're coming up on the 15th anniversary, and they think it’s funny," Lewis said. The company has since taken down the video, but has been viewer more than 25,000 times on Lewis's Facebook page.KSAT 12 News attempted numerous calls to the company, but no one answered the phone. We also visited their business location off of Northwest Loop 410, but its doors were locked and no one was seen inside.Miracle Mattress Apology Letter Copyright 2016 by KSAT - All rights reserved.

NEW YORK CITY — A Texas mattress commercial posted on Facebook this week  asked its viewers, “What better way to remember 9/11 than with a twin tower sale?” In the commercial, which was posted to YouTube on Sept. 8, a Miracle Mattresses spokeswoman stands in front of two towers of mattresses of various sizes that she explains will be sold for the price of a twin. The woman then raises her arms, pushing two men who stand behind her into the tower of mattresses which topple to the ground. She screams as the towers fall, then turns back to the camera and smiles.  “We’ll never forget,” she says. The commercial was immediately criticized, including by James Oddo, Borough President of Staten Island where many 9/11 victims lived. Here it is, folks. We can say w/ metaphyscial certitude this is the clearest definition to date of "fucking stupid" https://t.co/4copgELUcK — Jimmy Oddo (@HeyNowJO) September 9, 2016 The San Antonio company posted the video to its Facebook page on Sept. 8, but it was quickly removed and followed by an apology from Miracle Mattress owner Michael Bonanno.
