You may also likeIt’s Day 4 of London Fashion Week and we’ve noted another trend that’s a must. Traditional gingham has taken on a new lease of life for SS17. Gone are the days when the print was only seen on pieces of school uniform – we can all remember those nostalgia-laced summer dresses that came with a matching scrunchie – thanks to Henry Holand, Shrimps and Molly Goddard, gingham has been elevated to a wardrobe staple.

Read on to see why it’s here to stay… Henry Holland’s Gingham Gypsy Girls This season Henry Holland’s ten-year anniversary celebration at the Topshop Show Space featured a whole lotta gingham. Appearing on flamenco-inspired off-shoulder ruffle dresses, bell-bottom trousers that hung from the hip, 80s ra-ra skirts and a very British PVC raincoat, the pattern came in the contrasting hues of letter-box red, sunset orange, Cadbury’s purple and forest green. Meanwhile gingham detail appeared as inserts on the sleeves of bomber jackets, on neckties secured by metal buckles, and on lace-up boots, also worn by Henry’s gang of t-shirt clad models who closed the show. Molly Goddard’s Gingham Ravers Molly Goddard’s girl gang is all grown up for SS17. Embracing a bold fluro colour palette, and taking inspiration from the ’90s trance scene, Molly’s signature party dresses now come rave-ready, too. Think a full tulle skirt in highlighter green and an acid pink organza dress that revealed the wearer’s black knickers.

Meanwhile a new pattern stole the show: gingham, of course. Served in baby pink on a ruched mid length dress worn with metallic silver high-knee boots, or as a black and white skirt, teamed with a jersey top featuring a photo of a man’s bum (cheeky) – make like Molly and embrace gingham for SS17. Shrimps’ Converse-clad Green Gingham Girls Hannah Weiland’s SS17 Shrimps collection was pared back in comparison to those previous, with an emphasis on colour and texture. Trademark Shrimps’ faux-furs – including an oversized bubble gum pink marshmallow coat with three-quarter sleeves – and signature hand-illustrated silks, were interspersed with caged-mesh dresses and a series of primary green and black gingham pinafores and empire line dresses. A further foray into pattern and texture came as part of a collaboration with Converse, that saw each girl wear pair of Chucks that contrasted with their look.Page 1 of 1 View 120 per page Name: A - ZName: Z - APrice: Low to HighPrice: High to LowWas Price: Low to HighWas Price: High to Low

in store with free/discounted shoes Cons Not friendly towards working mothers. Poor salary with little to no chance of pay rises. 21 Feb 2017 Pros - Fun place to work, lots of incentives and possibility to earn commission- Colleagues are lovely and there is a real team ethos Cons - Sometimes have to stay beyond shift to finish tidying the section- Working hours are long eg 7:45AM until 6PM (long time to be standing) Advice to Management - staff facilities including staff room could really do with improving, very little space and incredibly hot and stuffy 30 Jan 2017 I worked at Office Shoes full-time Pros Good discount especially on own brand. Fun environment with great people and customers. Cons Promotions are not carefully planned and often change at the last minute, only affecting those working at store level. Many of the good incentives have disappeared. The sports buying department is wasteful and purchase far too many colour ways in one product that will not be appeal to the consumer.

Advice to Management Ensure you are effectively trained to carry out duties correctly Is this helpful? The community relies on everyone sharing – Add Anonymous Review 5 Feb 2017 I worked at Office Shoes full-time (More than 3 years) Pros Some wonderful people - and poor upper management means if you are supervisor you may be given the chance to test yourself. Sttaff discounts were nice though. Cons No support from area managers, long long long hours (try 6 day weeks at 10+ hour shifts), awful pay, when I was there they still used fax machines Advice to Management Remember your employees are people who have lives of their own and that working at Office is probably not their life long career ambition. Also please first of all consider current staff when a position becomes available. Promote people - make them feel wanted; don't instantly look outside your own family 18 Jan 2017 I worked at Office Shoes full-time Pros Great people to work with in a busy environment Cons Bad pay for the work expectedExpected to be 15 mins early (before shift) but was seen as late if you were 14 minutes early resulting in a formal warning and no 15 minute break Advice to Management Treat employees equally.

Preferential treatment shouldn't happen just because staff have worked with you for a longer period of time 8 Feb 2017 I worked at Office Shoes full-time (Less than a year) Pros - Good discount- Easy to access Cons - Low pay- Management not supportive- Badly organised- Everything changes last minute- Rude staff Advice to Management Terrible. 2 Jan 2017 I worked at Office Shoes part-time Pros Make great friendsfriendly sales assistantsdiscounts on shoesflexibilityexperience for your cv Cons Pushy managementmoody managementshop security is bad ( no security guard)LOW pay £5.05 an houryou are supposed to get a 15 min break but managers avoid telling youyou are put for shifts without knowingHave to finish section after your shift but you NEVER end up leaving on time Advice to Management Try and help outTry and get security or tag the shoesPraise workers 21 Jan 2017 Pros The other sales assistants were great people to work with. Cons During the interview the managers entice you and tell you about the opportunity to "make so much money".

They don't give a specific amount until AFTER you have the job. After that their attitude completely changes and they adopt a whole new persona.Management are bullies - they are horrible to their employees and do not treat them with respect yet they expect respect back.Ridiculously low pay - £5.05They would constantly mess up people's pay and underpay them.Hectic environment, feels as if there is no order or structure. Advice to Management Respect the staff who are working for you and working to make sure you get your bonuses.Cheer up and it wouldn't hurt to smile.Encourage your staff, it'll help them perform better. 14 Jan 2017 Pros Make friends very quicklyDecent pay for an under 18Certain shifts are better than others depending on what management are in Cons Management are absolutely horrendousLack of respect, to any memeber of staffGenerally lure you in when interviewing you and whole persona changes when you start workingPoor training, especially when working on tillsSnarky comments to cashiers and sales assistants especially from certain managementManagement critising other memebers of staff and acting fake towards you.

Being at the door is pointless, half of the customers don't even say hi or bye and you are responsible to check if any people have stolen shoes, also there are NEVER an management at the front when customers ask for shoes when you're standing at the door Advice to Management To have respect of those who work there, there is a huge line of disrespect which makes working at office, a horrible place. Be careful of what you say to other employees, as it's very offensive especially when hinting that people are stupid.Have a better system, as sales assistant will always get the blame for stolen shoes when you're the ones who are meant to watch the floor. 5 Jan 2017 I worked at Office Shoes part-time Pros Free pair of shoes up to £80 every 6 months and good discount Cons Worst managementFavouritismCliquesHave to work 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after for freeIf you were in men's section you were expected to run 3 floors worth of stairs to get a pair of shoesTargets if you worked in the men's section were unrealistic Advice to Management If you put someone in the back section
