Batman, Star Wars, Marvel Comics and More Build a Solid Foundation for Lego [Toy Fair 2017] Photography by Luke Brown, Townsquare Media Let me tell you, friends, the things Lego has in store for 2017 are likely going to bankrupt me. We got an early look at the upcoming slate of building sets in the Marvel, DC, and Star Wars branches of Lego's release slate, and each area left us dreaming of homes with more display shelves than the library at Alexandria. Toy Fair 2017 was home to a lot of great toys, but nothing gets the creative and collecting juices flowing quite like Lego. Especially when they have some dope Batman sets. Category: DC, Marvel, Toys 10 Greatest Superhero Video Games 10. Lego Marvel Super Heroes (Traveler's Tales) While capes and cowls dominating the box office is the new phenomenon, video games are no stranger to awesome tales of superheroics. With that in mind, we've scoured the streets of Gotham, taken a double-dose of radiation, and grabbed our shark repellents to put together this list most excelsior list of the 10 Greatest Superhero Games!

Category: DC, Galleries, Gaming, Lists, Marvel Lego’s Fabled SHIELD Helicarrier is Real, and it’s Spectacular For what seems like an eternity, Lego and Marvel fans alike have been looking forward to the brickmaker's take on SHIELD's iconic mobile headquarters, the Helicarrier. After years of waiting, the dream came true. This March, Lego will release a massive scale replica of the high-flying fortress, complete with the world's first ever Maria Hill mini-figure. Coming in at just under 3,000 pieces (2,996 to be exact), the Lego SHIELD Helicarrier isn't just going to be a beast to put together, at 31 inches long, 17 inches wide, and 11 inches tall, it's also going to be one of the largest Lego sets in the Marvel Super Hero Line (though it's still a bit smaller than the Lego Super Star Destroyer from Star Wars). It should be noted, the Helicarrier being released is going to be based on the first Avengers film, and not Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, the mini-figures included are all based on the costumes Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye, Nick Fury and Maria Hill are wearing in the latest film.

And yes, you read that right; there will be two female figures included, even if it will cost you $349.99 to get them. Category: Marvel, Movies, Toys What Lego’s ‘Age of Ultron’ Toys Tell Us About the Avengers Sequel [Spoilers… Earlier this week, the official German Lego site posted its catalog for the first half of 2015. While ordinary this wouldn't be a big deal, the preview book actually featured the first look at the company's planned Lego Marvel Super Heroes Avengers: Age of Ultron sets. Thanks to Wal-Mart Canada, fans can finally scope out next year's Marvel Super Heroes sets from LEGO. In the mix are sets that seem to sit nicely with the upcoming Marvel multimedia slate, including three Ultimate Spider-Man sets, and two Avengers Assemble sets. Sure, they're technically based on Disney XD's current two Marvel cartoons, but there's a prominent Electro minifigure ripe for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie release this summer. Perhaps best of all, though, is the reveal of LEGO MODOK. Link Ink: Miracleman’s Name, ‘Apocalypse Nerd’ Teaser, And The ‘Fantastic Four’ Movie Delayed Thursday's links are here to comfort you right after the jump. New ‘LEGO Marvel Super Heroes’ Animated Series ‘Maximum Overload’ Smashes Online [Video] Hot off the heels of the release of the video game LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, the toy brand and the comics publisher are teaming up once again for a five-episode Web series that will be available on the Disney YouTube channel as well as Disney's Roku and XBox-connected TV apps.

Maximum Overload, which finds Loki amassing an army to take on all of Marvel's heroes, went online today with all five episodes. It's loaded with cameos (look out for J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson and Stan Lee in episode 2). You can hit the jump to watch all five shorts in full right now. Category: Animation, Marvel, Video Explore the Universe Brick-by-Brick in Lego Marvel Super Heroes [Review] Two of the things I have loved longest in life -- besides family, fireworks and cake -- are Lego and the Marvel universe. They were two things that sparked and fed my imagination and helped me play. Now they've come together in the video game Lego Marvel Super Heroes. There was very little chance that I wasn't going to buy a game that combines two such nostalgic favorites. Still it comes as a great relief to discover that Lego Marvel Super Heroes doesn't just tap into my nerd reflexes; it's also tremendous fun. It's no surprise that LEGO and developer TT Games are playing up the characters and settings from The Avengers in the official launch trailer for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, which is available in stores today. Nick Fury, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, the Hulk, Loki and the Helicarrier are all front-and-center. View All 5 Photos in Gallery Simple but engaging combat and puzzle-solving. A light, whimsical story. Tons of Marvel characters, both popular and obscure. Incredibly fun open-world gameplay. Lack of difficulty may turn off some gamers. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes lies at the intersection of comic books, toys, and video games, and slickly combines elements of all into one of 2013's most entertaining PC games. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is a near-perfect blend of three wonderful childhood staples: comic books, video games, and, well, LEGO.

Steeped in Marvel Comics goodness, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes puts players in the role of a superhero team (a wonderful mish-mash of over 100 comic book characters) tasked with recovering all-powerful Cosmic Bricks that are scattered around the globe before top-tier baddies such as Loki, Dr. Doom, and Magneto get their hands on the cubes. It's a threat level worthy enough to warrant developer TT Games plopping the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, The Avengers, and other favorites into one excellent, family-friendly superhero romp. It's one of the best PC games there is, for both kids and adults. LEGO City Undercover (Nintendo Wii U) LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy Grand Theft Auto V (for PlayStation 3) Marvel BlocksThe latest LEGO title features difficulty-free button mashing combat, light puzzle-solving that requires you to deftly use the characters' unique skills and abilities, and tongue-in-cheek writing/voice acting that doesn't take itself too seriously (and in a surprising move, Gregg Clark reprises his Agent Phil Coulson movie/TV role).

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is family-friendly fare; even some of the Marvel Universe's deadliest villains (Red Skull and Thanos, for instance) have a likeable, hammy, non-violent charm. It's difficult to pull off "evil" in a world where everyone resembles cute, walking fire hydrants. You can even build custom heroes and outfit them with other heroes' parts (such as Wolverine's claws) for extra fun. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes features a story mode that's best played in short bursts—the gameplay is overly reliant on rushing a villain's lair and downing minions to thwart an evil plan. As a result, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes' main mode has an element of sameness when played at length. That said, making your way through story mode unlocks the free play mode that drops Marvel's finest in an open-world environment not unlike the underrated LEGO City Undercover. This is where LEGO Marvel Super Heroes shines. You explore a massive New York City, tackle side missions, and unlock tons of characters, including lesser-known ones like H.E.R.B.I.E. and Howard the Duck.
