A four-bedroom house just north of Newcastle is being sold with some unusual extras, including laser tag, waterslides, a putt putt course and a toboggan run. The 30 acre property at 1733 The Lakes Way in Rainbow Flat is home to The Big Buzz Fun Park, a popular tourist attraction built 32 years ago. Builder Shane Clews started the park in the mid-1980s to capitalise on the steady stream of tourists visiting the area. He built the park among coastal forests to include three larger slides, a toddler’s slide and a swimming pool. The park also has space for quad bikes, target golf and peddle carts. But Mr Clew said his favourite feature is the toboggan run, which starts atop a hill and winds down 418m of track.

The range of facilities mean the current business generates enough income to “support two families”, according to Mr Clews. “During the Christmas holidays we average between 60 and 138 cars every day and their average spend is $150 per car,” he said. The property has hit the market with a price guide of $2.4 million and includes a home with 297sq m of living space, which overlooks a dam. It was renovated four years ago to include a marble kitchen and new bathrooms. Selling agent Luke Crane of Ray White Forster-Tuncurry said the location was a major draw. “The location is absolutely beautiful. You’ve got a wonderful peaceful feel but it’s only minutes to the beach,” Mr Crane said. “We’ve already seen interest from some Sydney buyers who are keen to move out of the city and live in the park while running it as a lifestyle business.” Mr Clews said he hoped the property remained a fun park. “I’d love for a big company to come in and add more waterslides,” he said.
