The name of the story is "A Scary Story to Get you into the Halloween Spirit". The action takes place in a small town in New York State. The main character of the story is Faith's mother. She was a student there. There was a girl at her school, whose name was Arial. Arial was not a very nice girl. She liked to gossip. One day their teacher said that they had a new student - a girl from Kentucky. Her name was Pearl Dew. She was very strange: she was very thin, her skin was white and she did not look healthy. Soon Arial started to tell terrible stories about Pearl and her family. She said that Pearl's father had murdered a family of five and her mother had committed a suicide. Pearl said that it was a lie, but everyone believed Arial. So it was a big problem for Pearl. A few weeks later October came and at the end of the month Pearl sent out twelve invitations for a Halloween party. She did not invite Arial. Therefore Arial was very angry and she decided to go to a party anyway. On Halloween's eve kids met at Faith's mother house and went to Pearl's place. On the way they noticed a woman who was walking very close to the edge of the path. They tried to warn her, but did not succeed in it. The woman went over the edge yet she did not fall. She was floating in the air and called Pearl. Suddenly two girls came crashing out of the woods and across the path. They were Pearl and Arial who was behind here. Arial was very frightened. After that night, no one ever found any sign of Pearl or Arial. They disappeared.

My name is Helen Todd. I am a teacher at high school in a small town in New York State. I can tell many different stories about my work as a teacher. There were funny moments, sad stories and curious situations, also there is a very strange story about Halloween. It happened 20 years ago. Back then I had a new student early in the new school year. Her name was Pearl Dew. She looked very strange: she had long black hair and white skin and she did not look healthy. I heard that she did not have a mother and she lived with her father. Also there was a girl who liked to gossip about other students in my class. Not all kids loved her but everyone believed in stories that she told about the new girl. I asked her to stop doing so, but she continued telling those terrible stories about Pearl. One day in late October Pearl sent out twelve invitations for a Halloween party. I got one. Obviously Arial did not get an invitation from Pearl and she was so angry. So, we decided to meet near the house of one of the students. There was a footpath to Pearl's house, but parts of it got a little rough. When we went toward her house I noticed a strange woman at the edge of the path. I yelled that woman that she could fall. But when that woman went over the edge she floated in the air. Then I heard the crackling of branches. I saw Pearl. She was pulling Arial behind her. I screamed to Pearl that she may fall off the cliff and kill herself. But she did not hear me. After that night I had never seen Pearl and Arial again.

My name is Arial. I am studying at high school in a small town in New York State. Everyone in my class likes me. I know they want to be friends with me. Two months ago our teacher said that we had a new student. Her name was Arial. She is a very strange girl and almost does not speak to anyone. She did not like me right away. I have heard that she had no mother and I decided to start the rumor about her and her family. I told the students that Pearl's father was a murderer and her mother committed a suicide. One week later everyone talked about Pearl. Everyone believed my stories. I saw Pearl was angry with me. She sometimes asked me to stop. At that moment I just laughed or acted frightened. Weeks went by and I noticed that Pearl began to talk a little more and she was not so shy. One week ago Pearl had sent out twelve invitations for a Halloween party. But I had not received one. I was very angry and I decided to go to this party anyway. Everyone knows about my decision and I am going to attend this party today.
