Nice chatting with you.

Here's the transcript of your chat with Apple Store:

Monday, Nov 06, 2017 08:34 PM
Duration: 46 minutes 56 seconds

Apple:
<NIC_TRANSCRIPT>Welcome to Apple.
What can we do for you today?</NIC_TRANSCRIPT>

dialectic@hi2.in:
<NIC_TRANSCRIPT>I'm interested in switching to iPhone</NIC_TRANSCRIPT>

Apple:
<AVA>Now transferring you to an Apple Chat Specialist. Please wait.</AVA>

Kenny:
Hey there! This is Kenny and I will be attending to you here today via this chat.

Kenny:
That sounds really lovely! I will be happy to assist you on this

Kenny:
May I know whom will I be speaking to today?

dialectic@hi2.in:
Call me Josh

Kenny:
Nice to have you here Josh

Kenny:
Are you deciding between iPhones at this time?

dialectic@hi2.in:
Most of my apps transfer nicely onto iPhone, but it seems like there's no way to transfer WhatsApp messages

dialectic@hi2.in:
Is there any way I could do that? I use WhatsApp a lot.

Kenny:
I am afraid for 3rd party apps, you will need to check directly with WhatsApp for this

Kenny:
How did you get the transfer done?

dialectic@hi2.in:
I haven't bought an iPhone yet, I'm still doing my research

dialectic@hi2.in:
I just want to make sure everything works first

dialectic@hi2.in:
It seems like the Android version only backs up to Google drive and the iOS version only backs up to iCloud

Kenny:
I have found something online

Kenny:
Can you google “Move to iOS Whatsapp

Kenny:
The first link runs up something useful

Kenny:
You may wish to check on this

Kenny:
For all other things, do you know that there is this app called the “Move to iOS” that allows you to easily port over your existing information from your current Android phone to our iOS devices?

Kenny:
I have prepared this for you here today for your easy reference on a step by step guide on getting your data ported over easily ---> Click here: Move from Android to iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Kenny:
If you need some suggestions on which iPhone will best suit you, we can discuss this too

dialectic@hi2.in:
ok thanks

Kenny:
Did you get the information you were looking for?

dialectic@hi2.in:
I'm just wondering, since the two versions of WhatsApp back up to different services, how does it transfer?

dialectic@hi2.in:
There seems to be only that one article about it

Kenny:
Since this is a third party app Josh, I am afraid I am

unable to comment much on this as we do not have the expertise

Kenny:
It is best if you can contact WhatsApp directly for the best information

Kenny:
I would be more than happy to share more if this is a Apple Branded application

dialectic@hi2.in:
I guess I'll have to continue using Android until WhatsApp adds this feature :(

dialectic@hi2.in:
I contact almost everyone on WhatsApp and I can't lose the messages

Kenny:
Not sure if you read up about the article I searched for you earlier

Kenny:
From what I am seeing, it is pretty detailed on how you can get this done

dialectic@hi2.in:
There's something else I'd like to know about iOS

dialectic@hi2.in:
Is there any way to customise my phone other than the wallpaper?

Kenny:
How are you looking to customise?

dialectic@hi2.in:
Like change the app icons

Kenny:
I am afraid not

dialectic@hi2.in:
Something that makes my phone unique

Kenny:
Most of the outlook of the iOS is standardise and unlike Android, these customizations are not applicable

Kenny:
You can still personalise your iPhone via a case, wallpapers etc.

dialectic@hi2.in:
If I'm looking for a small iPhone that has portrait mode and touch ID, what are my options?

Kenny:
iPhone 8 Plus will be the only model that supports this

dialectic@hi2.in:
By small I mean easily used with one hand

Kenny:
Only the Plus models on iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, and iPhone X has Portrait Mode

Kenny:
With the added criteria that you need Touch ID, that will limit this to the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus

Kenny:
Any reasons why you did not include Face ID?

dialectic@hi2.in:
I use my phone out in the sun a lot and it seems like the infrared camera doesn't work well in sunlight, since it gets overwhelmed by the infrared rays from the sun

Kenny:
Actually I have been using the iPhone X since launch and don’t have this issue. I used it during my Sunday Soccer as well out bright in the daylight

Kenny:
There is always a passcode too if you ever run into trouble

Kenny:
You can also hold it against the Sun

Kenny:
The reason why I am suggesting this is the size of the iPhone X fits exactly what you are looking at

Kenny:
It perfectly fits in most palms and also features the largest display on a iPhone ever

dialectic@hi2.in:
Another concern I have with the X is the control centre

dialectic@hi2.in:
It has been moved from the bottom to the top

Kenny:
And how does this affect your usage Josh?

dialectic@hi2.in:
As I said above, I need a one-handed phone, and it's difficult to reach the top of the 19.5:9 display

Kenny:
I think you need to ought to give the iPhone X a hold in our Apple Store

Kenny:
If you can reach the lock button on the side, it is absolutely possible to hold the iPhone X and access all parts of the display

Kenny:
I am a past user of the iPhone 7 and I can understand what you mean by having difficulties using it with one hand

Kenny:
Switching to the iPhone X, this usage and ease of holding has been improved

Kenny:
I even have extra palm space
