The coaches have their say on the change in format (Picture: ITV)The coaches have had their say on the new red chair twist – and they’re absolutely loving it! There is set to be a bit of a format change this year – this time, when auditionees have finished performing, they’ll be forced to skulk off stage without having the opportunity to meet the judges who turned them down. Sir Tom Jones is returning to the show this year, and for one thinks the change is good because it makes performers toughen up, while also sparing them awkwardness. We love the awkwardness, but whatever, Tom. The coaches will no longer meet the contestants they turn down (Picture: ITV)He said that the contestants are warned beforehand so should be prepared: ‘It is tough but the thing we realise is that the contestants know that when they come on if we don’t turn they have to go. There is no explaining why, so they are prepared for it. He added that it’s their first test in the business of music: ‘It is a test in itself, if you are going to crumble after going to an audition and not get through, you are not prepared for the big time.

There is a test right there.’ New coach Gavin Rossdale likes the addition of the lack of swivel too, because it eliminates insincerity. Gavin Rossdale thinks the change will stop coaches being fake (Picture: ITV)‘I think it is a lot better,’ he said. ‘I watched a lot of The Voice in America and people can sound disingenuous when they haven’t pressed their buttons but turn round and say “you are so incredible” and “you are going to have this superstar career but I didn’t want you on my team.” ‘The no turn change stops it being like that. It’s more dramatic in one way – yet spares some real awkwardness.’ Host Emma Willis is loving the change too. Emma Willis things it encourages constructive criticism (Picture: ITV)‘I think its brilliant. I think it’s a good thing,’ she said. ‘It  instigates different conversations from the coaches because obviously before when they turned around they made a connection with somebody and felt really bad for not turning so they automatically apologised.

‘But with this change they can have more constructive criticism because they are not directing it at someone that they are looking at. It is more of a conversation between the four of them. Maybe we will get different insights into why they haven’t turned.’ The ‘razzle dazzled’ new logo (Picture: ITV)Emma just loves change in general. She’s also a fan of the reigns being handed over to ITV from the BBC, saying the swap in channel will add ‘razzle dazzle’ to proceedings. She said: ‘It will give me some breathing room on the live shows in the ad breaks! It also will bring some Saturday night sparkle and some extra razzle dazzle. They are good at razzle dazzle at ITV. The logo itself is full of sparkle!’ The Voice starts Saturday January 7 at 8pm on ITV. While the show was on the BBC the coaches’ chairs would turn for every singer, regardless of whether they pressed their buzzers or not. Fans of The Voice weren’t impressed with the new format Now their seats do not spin if they don’t press their buzzers, leading some viewers to accuse producers of being “mean”. One viewer tweeted: “Wow they don’t even turn around at the end and give feedback anymore? A second wrote: “Hate that the coaches don’t get to see the person if they don’t turn, so horrible that they don’t get any feedback or reason why #TheVoice.” Another fan told them: “@thevoiceuk I hate how the chairs don’t turn when people aren’t chosen. Feels really mean spirited #thevoiceuk.” Viewers were impressed with the new coaches Jennifer Hudson and Gavin Rossdale The coaches – Will.I.Am, Sir Tom Jones, Gavin Rossdale and Jennifer Hudson – appear to like the change however, with Welsh icon Tom saying: “I think it’s better like this.

He added: “Before you know the chairs would turn round and you’d have to explain why you didn’t. “If I was standing up there, and the chairs didn’t turn around, I’d want to get out!” FIGHT FOR SATURDAY NIGHT BACK WITH A BANG Although the new format wasn’t pleasing for everyone, viewers fell in love with new coaches Gavin and Jennifer. Oscar winning singer Jen wowed fans with her voice at the start of the show when she belted out Queen’s Under Pressure with her co-stars. Will.I.Am kicked off the coaches' performance at the start of the show, rapping about his co-stars Jennifer, Sir Tom and Gavin. Fans went wild as Gavin walked out to join him, singing his heart out before Sir Tom walked on stage for the chorus. But producers appeared to leave the best until last, with Oscar winner Jennifer appearing under a spotlight behind the audience. As the spotlight fell onto her, Jennifer started to belt out the song before hitting the high notes with ease.

asha👊 (@tashabrown_) January 7, 2017 The coaches think they have what it takes to find a star after ITV won the rights to the singing contest after the BBC struggled to create a major recording artist. Jennifer, 35, who found fame on American Idol in 2004, said: "I think with the combination of us it will help them to learn a lot so they can make it in the industry. "It takes more than just talent, it's just as much about business. "We can teach them that to last and sustain, and know how to be in this game. I think we might actually have more than one star. Stars." r Tom, 76, who returns to the panel after a feud with BBC bosses, said: "I hope so - it's got all the ingredients. We've got some really, really strong singers. Sir Tom Jones is back on the show after it switched to ITV "But as we all know it takes more than that. It's abouthit record is not an easy thing. It's up toed: "This is all about singing - that's why it's called The Voice. It's not a

bout dog acts or juggling or anything else - this is all about singing. "So if you're a singer and you want to be a famous singer, The Voice is the show to be on." The foursome spoke to Bizarre in an exclusive Facebook live chat ahead of the series' launch on ITV on Saturday 7th - and played a game amongst themselves to determine which of them is the "biggest diva", the "best singer" and who takes the longest to get ready ahead of the show. Will.i.am remains in his spot on the new-look show Watch the full chat with the four coaches here on Dan Wootton's facebook page. Sir Tom enthusiastically laughed off talk of a rivalry between The Voice and Gary Barlow's Let It Shine, as both shows prepare to go head-to-head when the Take That star's series launches on BBC1. After laughing at talk of a contest between the two shows, he added: "Gary's a very nice man. I sounded a bit like Father Christmas there and Christmas has already gone!"
