The Gulf Shores Police Department held a press conference on the incident: “At 10 a.m. this morning a local Gulf Shores youth band in a Mardi Gras parade was entering highway 59 when a vehicle behind them lurched forward and injured 11 members of the band,” spokesperson for the Gulf Shores Police Department, Grant Brown, told reporters.

“Three of the band members are critically injured,” Brown continued. “The vehicle behind the band was part of the parade and it is unknown at this time why the vehicle lurched forward. All 11 children were transported to a local hospital. The children are ‘young teenagers.'” The City of Gulf Shores said they are closing Highway 59 indefinitely, until the police clear the scene. They are requesting that any witnesses or people with photos come forward. The FBI said they are investigating the incident. Copyright © 2017, ABC Radio. It was supposed to be a chance to show off some serious handwork. But this designer's big moment was instantly ruined, when he accidentally flew his Lego plane straight into a crate, shattering it into hundreds of pieces. But is the footage all that it seems? The designer shows off the impressive looking motor Lego plane that will be going on its test flight Taking the controls, the plane's 'engine' is fired up and it begins to speed across the carpet

But there was just not enough life on take-off, and there is only one way this aircraft is goingThe clip, filmed in a Minneapolis warehouse, begins with a man showing off his pride and joy, a motor-powered Lego plane.'This thing can fly, so let's give it a shot,' he says, as he places the plane on the carpet, ready for take-off.The engine starts up, and the plane races across the ground before rising into the air - and straight into a crate about 20ft away. Mayday, Mayday: The plane crashes into the crate and breaks up into hundreds of Lego pieces The man then turns to the camera with a sheepish look on his face - but was everything as it seems? The plane, unsurprisingly as it is made of Lego, breaks into hundreds of pieces. The camera then pans back to a sheepish looking man, obviously perturbed at the destruction. However, the stunt was produced by using Computer Generated Imagery. While the plane was all real, the flight and subsequent crash were faked. The 'test flight' took place at the Brickmania warehouse in Minneapolis, a company that uses Lego to build various objects.
