We saw some wild and crazy promo footage from the LEGO Movie — and directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord told us they want this movie to feel like a LEGO fan film that's just somehow gotten a "ton of money." The LEGO Movie is part-CGI and part actual real LEGO bricks in stop-motion, and Lord and Miller told the audience they absolutely do not want you to be able to tell which is which. We didn't exactly see new footage from the LEGO Movie, but we did see a hilarious "audition" video in which the main character Emmett, the female lead Wildstyle and Batman are all trying out for roles in the film. But Batman is too busy texting on his Bat-phone to bother to audition — and he's not even willing to say "I'm Batman," until Superman pops up and says he's willing to be in the movie. Also, when Wildstyle beats up a bunch of robots, she shouts out which parts of them she's kicking: "groin, groin, neck, neck, groin, space between eyes and neck." Also we see Bad Cop auditioning — but then he wants to play both good cop and bad cop, and this is a problem.

And then LEGO versions of both Lord and Miller have to audition to direct their own movie, and the evil Lord Business (Will Ferrell) starts messing with them, telling them their faces need to be different and they suck.Vitruvious (Morgan Freeman) shows up to read his big heroic monologue about destiny but he can't find his place in the cue cards, which are lego cue cards of course. And then Morgan Freeman tries to learn how to talk like Batman. There are a ton of LEGO cameos in this film, many of which the film-makers couldn't reveal. (And host Chris Hardwick joked that this film is reuniting the Human Centipede cast for a LEGO Human Centipede.) But they did mention that Channing Tatum is Superman, Jonah Hill is Green Lantern — and Cobie Smulders is "the first film incarnation of Wonder Woman." When they said that, the crowd went nuts. The whole point of this film is capturing how kids play with LEGO. Producer Dan Lin said they had a fan contest and invited people to make short LEGO films, and some of that stuff made it into the film.

Also, in this movie, everything is LEGO. Said Miller, "The explosions are LEGO, the water is LEGO undulating, everything is processed LEGO pieces, it's crazy." Miller insisted they had to have a classic LEGO space character in the film as one of the main characters, because he grew up playing with Space Village — and in fact, Miller's mom found the Space Village set he had as a kid and sent it to them, so Miller's childhood LEGO set is in the movie.'The Lego Movie' Animators Show How the Film Was Made With an interesting mix of CG animation and actual Lego sets, the final look of 'The Lego Movie' has a surprising touch of realness and appears almost as if someone had actually painstakingly animated each and every movement through stop-motion. It's a reassessment, an intervention, an effort to try and remember what's fun about him. The sequel of sorts... is not quite as good, but at its best, it has the same whiplash wit and inspired freneticism. The thing about a sequel or a spinoff, even a mostly fun one like The LEGO Batman Movie, is that it's hard to recreate enthusiasm and inventiveness. What was once new is now, already, routine. Overall, The Lego Batman Movie offers enough action and silliness to enthrall children while providing sufficient pop culture and Batman-through-the-years references to keep adults entertained.

Basically, it's a standard-issue Batman narrative - arguably better than 50 per cent of history's other Batman films - that just happens to take place in a Lego-fied world. It's the Bat-spoof we didn't know we needed and it gives Batman a chance to loosen up. While it may lack the out-of-nowhere surprise factor of the first film, The LEGO Batman Movie is a more-than-worthy extension of both the LEGO and Batman screen franchises. Very funny but a little bit all over the place, "The LEGO Batman Movie" is fun for all ages he result is more fun than Batman's been since Adam West hung up his purple tights. Somewhere, surely, Batman's late creators Bob Kane and Bill Finger are smiling. By Van Wyk Productions The Lego Batman Movie is a sequel/spin-off to the very well received Lego Movie. It stars Will Arnett as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Michael Cera as Dick Grayson/Robin, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Rosario Dawson as Barbra Gordon/Batgirl and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker. Off of the success of The Lego Movie, many have had great anticipation for this film, besides just being from the Lego Movie. So was the Lego Batman movie good, bad or just ok? Let's dive into it, shall we? The beauty of seeing this film was that I didn't go alone; I had guest reviewers Alex Weis and Corbett Baratta there with me as well. Afterwards, I asked them for a short blurb on their thoughts about the film. Corbett had this to say about it, "Funny, heartwarming, an all around fun flick." And Alex said, "The LEGO Batman Movie is a such a fun, hilarious, action packed ride, after you walk out of the theater, you will have a big, dumb Joker-like grin on your face. It's a movie that not only makes fun of Batman but 100 percent gets Batman at the same time."

I myself must admit that I had a blast with this film! It was probably the most funniest and action packed Batman film I've seen! Now, don't take that as me saying this is the best Batman film OF ALL TIME! That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that this movie had certain traits to it that made it very enjoyable and kept me invested the whole time. Will Arnett is a great Batman and the rest of the cast is just as good! This movie makes a lot of jabs at previous Batman films and even TV series; so if you've seen everything Batman wise up to this point, then pay attention for the many references that are sprinkled in the film. Plot wise, it's actually pretty standard, Batman has to save the day with the aid of his trusty side-kick, or side-kicks in this case, from an evil that could threaten Gotham. However, the way the film is done, and the fact that it just has so many jokes in it, makes the standard plot even more enjoyable. And I have to say that the creators of the film really went out of their way to bring in characters that I didn't expect to see in this film.

With that being said, if there are any Doctor Who fans, you're in for a short but very sweet surprise; sadly it's not the Doctor himself, but that would've been awesome! The way things were put together, like how smooth the lego objects worked in comparison to each other, was brilliantly done once again! I mean, I was very impressed with how well it was done. I also imagined that with legos it'd be harder to make something look really good, but this movie did it perfectly. Obviously, most of it was done in the Lego Movie, but I feel like smoothness wise, this film was a touch better, but very close in quality, so either way very good! So what's the overall verdict, you're probably asking by this point. Well it's very enjoyable, has great references to previous Batman works, and just overall is a great film! So I would definitely recommend seeing this film! And let me be clear on one thing; this is for both adults and kids. Both can get enjoyment out of this film. I mean, in my theater tonight, everyone was at least above 20 years old, and there was laughter heard quite often from them, so that should prove even adults can enjoy this!
