Then you’ll want to add the new Lego Movie soundtrack LP to your collection. While Chris Pratt is busy leaking minifigs, the folks over at SPACELAB9 are getting ready to press a very special edition of the Lego Movie soundtrack on custom vinyl. They’ve got two versions planned. The first is the one you see above, a splatter-painted design that’s made to match Wyldstyle. And they couldn’t very well press one for the leading lady without offering one up for the hero, could they? Emmet’s disc will be colored to coordinate with his signature blue shirt and bright orange coveralls.

It’ll be half-and-half, not splattered like the other. That makes sense, since Emmet is very much a “follow the instructions” sort of fellow (at least for most of the movie). Additional variants may be forthcoming too, and they’ll be based on other characters — so you may indeed be able to grab Unikitty or Vitruvius vinyl if that’s what you’re really hoping to add to your collection. There’s also a mysterious extremely limited special edition coming that you’ll only be able to buy directly from SPACELAB9. SPACELAB9 didn’t announce pricing for the double LP on their blog, but Amazon already has an entry for it. They’re taking pre-orders right now at $31.98, and they’ve pegged March 10th as the release date (that’s a month later than what SPACELAB9 had posted). In addition to former Devo frontman Mark Motherbaugh’s complete score for the film, the soundtrack also includes two versions of Everything is Awesome: the one from the movie performed by Teagan and Sara and their recent Grammy collaboration with The Lonely Island.

Those folks will be happy to learn that the original motion picture soundtrack to The Lego Movie will be released as a Double LP set on February 10th, 2015. You can pre-order now on Amazon. The Double LP set will be packaged in a full color gate-fold jacket with a 12" x 12" full color, 8 page booklet featuring liner notes by Mark Mothersbaugh (composer of The Lego Movie soundtrack and founder of DEVO) and images from the movie.

The album includes the entire 24 track score by Mothersbaugh and four unique versions of Everything is Awesome, the somehow Oscar nominated anthem for the movie that is performed by Tegan and Sara (and features The Lonely Island). An extremely limited edition version of the soundtrack will also be available in the form of colored vinyl variants in the palette of some of the characters in the movie. I'm guessing pink for Unikitty, blue for Benny, and the already confirmed red and yellow colors that were offered with pre-orders in the UK. The normal color is black (and sometimes very dark gray) for Batman, I guess. Spacelab9 will be carrying the vinyl variants and making them available for pre-order sometime before the album release. The standard release is just $31.98.Uh-oh, it looks like your Internet Explorer is out of date. Released theatrically on February 7, 2014, the movie was a critical and commercial success, with many critics highlighting its visual style, humour, voice acting, and heartwarming message. The film's Original Score was composed by Mark Mothersbaugh, who had previously worked with producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller onCloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs and 21 Jump Street. The LEGO Movie soundtrack contains the score as the majority of its tracks. Also included is the theme song "Everything Is Awesome!!!" by Tegan and Sara featuring The Lonely Island, which has been critically praised and has undergone some close analysis. International Business Times describes the song as a parody of fascism, saying that the song "seems little more than an infectiously catchy parody of watered-down radio pop, right down to the faux-dubstep breakdown. There's a lot more happening under the surface, however." In an interview with Fox News, composer and songwriter Mark Mothersbaugh says the song "was supposed to be like mind control early in the film.
