The movie is a wonderful surprise, cleverly written and executed brick by brick with a visual panache. January 3, 2015 | Lord and Miller's sensibilities are continually clever, and The Lego Movie works hard to gradually deliver surprising payoffs to what seem to be throwaway bits. The Lego Movie has enough wit and wisdom to send a recession-age message to families on the importance of thinking through problems with creativity. As a rule, movies about toys need to be approached with extreme caution; some of them have been bad enough to count as health hazards. This one is the exception. March 3, 2014 | This is truly a movie that children and their parents can both enjoy for different reasons. It's a reassessment, an intervention, an effort to try and remember what's fun about him. February 15, 2017 | The sequel of sorts... is not quite as good, but at its best, it has the same whiplash wit and inspired freneticism. February 10, 2017 | The thing about a sequel or a spinoff, even a mostly fun one like The LEGO Batman Movie, is that it's hard to recreate enthusiasm and inventiveness.

What was once new is now, already, routine. Overall, The Lego Batman Movie offers enough action and silliness to enthrall children while providing sufficient pop culture and Batman-through-the-years references to keep adults entertained. Basically, it's a standard-issue Batman narrative - arguably better than 50 per cent of history's other Batman films - that just happens to take place in a Lego-fied world. It's the Bat-spoof we didn't know we needed and it gives Batman a chance to loosen up.Will Arnett's Lego Batman stole the show in The Lego Movie, but now he has his own solo film. Made entirely out of Legos, The Lego Batman Movie features parodies of the Batman lexicon, spanning from the Burton/Nolan movies and the comics to the Adam West TV series. Fans expected the film to be a fun comedy for the whole family — with plenty of in-jokes for hardcore fans — but nobody expected The Lego Batman Movie to end up being the highest-rated theatrical Batman film to date.

Which it currently is: As of right now, the Rotten Tomatoes aggregate score from professional film reviewers is at 97 percent, as opposed to 94 percent for The Dark Knight, widely considered the greatest superhero movie of all time. It's also higher than the 82 percent for animated fan favorite Batman: Mask Of The Phantasm.It seems improbable that a Lego cartoon would have better reviews than a film that features an Academy Award-winning performance, but — for now, with 34 professional critics reporting in — that's the case. Will The 'The LEGO Batman Movie' Get A Sequel? The Whole Gang's Here! 4 Things Revealed In 'The Lego Batman Movie' Behind The Scenes Featurette Afraid Of Family: 'The Lego Batman Movie' Will Take On A Type Of Batman Story Never Attempted Before Reviews have shown almost nothing but praise for the film. Here's Tom Huddleston from TimeOut: "The inept egomaniac is a time-honored comedy archetype — think Jack Sparrow, Daffy Duck or Donald Trump — but thanks to razor-sharp writing, this Batman is fresh and fun."

Owen Gleiberman from Variety described the movie as deserving a place in the pantheon of legendary satire:"The Lego Batman Movie is a helter-skelter lampoon in the daftly exhilarating spirit of Mad magazine and the Naked Gun films.Don Kaye from Den Of Geek says that the movie is more accurate to the comics and the character than the far more serious big-screen interpretations:"As funny and satiric as it is, director Chris McKay’s film gets to the heart of the character more insightfully than some of the live-action iterations. The Lego Batman Movie’s little plastic superhero may be his most human portrayal yet ... and it's actually fun too." This still kills me! From all these reviews, combined with the hilarious marketing, it seems like The Lego Batman Movie will be not only a perfect comedy for the family to enjoy — kids, adults, teens, seniors, you name it — but also a perfect Batman movie. Maybe it's not the Batman movie we wanted, but it's the Batman movie we deserve: one that brings everyone together rather than splitting audiences in half, debating for months on end.

he result is more fun than Batman's been since Adam West hung up his purple tights. Somewhere, surely, Batman's late creators Bob Kane and Bill Finger are smiling. Sacramento News & Review If you go to the movie theater without any other pretension than to have a good time this is the most suitable and entertaining option. [Full review in Spanish] See all reviews on Rotten Tomatoes™ What do you say? Based on 4474 fan ratings By Van Wyk Productions The Lego Batman Movie is a sequel/spin-off to the very well received Lego Movie. It stars Will Arnett as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Michael Cera as Dick Grayson/Robin, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Rosario Dawson as Barbra Gordon/Batgirl and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker. Off of the success of The Lego Movie, many have had great anticipation for this film, besides just being from the Lego Movie. So was the Lego Batman movie good, bad or just ok? Let's dive into it, shall we? The beauty of seeing this film was that I didn't go alone;

I had guest reviewers Alex Weis and Corbett Baratta there with me as well. Afterwards, I asked them for a short blurb on their thoughts about the film. Corbett had this to say about it, "Funny, heartwarming, an all around fun flick." And Alex said, "The LEGO Batman Movie is a such a fun, hilarious, action packed ride, after you walk out of the theater, you will have a big, dumb Joker-like grin on your face. It's a movie that not only makes fun of Batman but 100 percent gets Batman at the same time." I myself must admit that I had a blast with this film! It was probably the most funniest and action packed Batman film I've seen! Now, don't take that as me saying this is the best Batman film OF ALL TIME! That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that this movie had certain traits to it that made it very enjoyable and kept me invested the whole time. Will Arnett is a great Batman and the rest of the cast is just as good! This movie makes a lot of jabs at previous Batman films and even TV series;

so if you've seen everything Batman wise up to this point, then pay attention for the many references that are sprinkled in the film. Plot wise, it's actually pretty standard, Batman has to save the day with the aid of his trusty side-kick, or side-kicks in this case, from an evil that could threaten Gotham. However, the way the film is done, and the fact that it just has so many jokes in it, makes the standard plot even more enjoyable. And I have to say that the creators of the film really went out of their way to bring in characters that I didn't expect to see in this film. With that being said, if there are any Doctor Who fans, you're in for a short but very sweet surprise; sadly it's not the Doctor himself, but that would've been awesome! The way things were put together, like how smooth the lego objects worked in comparison to each other, was brilliantly done once again! I mean, I was very impressed with how well it was done. I also imagined that with legos it'd be harder to make something look really good, but this movie did it perfectly.
