Our community, 2820 want itAt the recent San Diego Comic Con it was announced that there will be a third wave of The LEGO Movie sets coming out in January 2015.

There was one set on display; the #70817 LEGO Movie Batman & Super Angry Kitty Attack; Unikitty fans are going to be very happy with having another variation of their favorite feisty little character. lthough this is still just a speculation, this new set might be the LEGO Master Builder Submarine, which was built by several of the main characters from The LEGO Movie – including Vitruvius, Benny, Batman, Wyldstyle, Unikitty and Emmet – while they were being chased by Bad Cop. The submarine is a mash-up of their different styles of building and it looks totally crazy and awesome. I have heard from a lot of LEGO fans who would be very happy with the submarine made into a LEGO set. I would too, although I’m really not sure if it will actually happen. The original submarine created in LEGO Digital Designer for the movie is quite large and part-dense, so it is going to have to be an expensive set. It also doesn’t seem to have a whole lot of play-features. As you can see from The LEGO Movie clip below, it was basically built hastily, then dove into the water. T

here is a little bit of the interior showing with the double-decker couch, but that’s about it. Then, another possibility LEGO fans talk about is a LEGO Batman Batwing. This is also a quite large vehicle in the movie, but I could see it being made into a LEGO set. There is lots of swoosh-ability with the Batwing that would make both kids and adults happy. Below is a wonderful and movie-accurate version of the Batwing, painstakingly built by LEGO fan Stefan Edlinger (Brickmasta) using clips from The LEGO Movie as reference. Stefan also made full PDF instruction available for sale on his website, in case you want to build your own. See here: LEGO Batwing Instructions PDF At this point this is all that’s known about The LEGO Movie sets scheduled for the beginning of 2015. How many sets will be released in total is not known as of yet, but I’m sure we will hear more before the end of the year. In the meantime you can check out the current selection of The LEGO Movie sets at the Online LEGO Shop.

So what do you think? Are you looking forward to another wave of The LEGO Movie sets? Do you feel that the LEGO Submarine or the LEGO Batwing is a possibility? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! Would love to hear your opinion on this! 😉

Monthly Mini Model BuildI’ve just picked up the Barnes & Noble exclusive edition of The LEGO Batman Movie: The Essential Guide and in it, there are images of some rumored summer 2017 sets that I’ve previously reported on. The first is the Batwing that is said to be released. The book calls this version of the Batwing the “Black Thunder.” Further along in the book in the villains section, we get a look at some of the other sets that were rumored to come out in the summer. The first is Two-Face with his wrecking machine. Next to him is Harley Quinn with her vehicle with a cannon that was going to be a part of the Black Thunder Batwing set. On the next page, we get a look at the Scarecrow Scarecopter. Finally, there’s a look at the Bane bigfig along with his six-wheel vehicle. You can now purchase The LEGO Batman Movie: The Essential Guide over on Amazon but the Barnes & Noble version also includes a poster with it.

I’ll review the book in the next few days. The perfect companion to LEGO Batman’s first solo movie, The LEGO® Batman™ Movie: The Essential Guide showcases the full range of exciting LEGO Batman sets and minifigures that will be released to tie in with the film’s release. Heroes, villains, vehicles, and locations are all explored in classic DK style, with lively and informative nonfiction text to annotate and expand upon lavish reference images of LEGO Batman sets and scenes from the movie.Joker LowriderLowrider 70906Joker'S NotoriousNotorious LowriderLego My LegosLego DcMovie BatmanThe Lego MovieLowrider FlickrForwardLEGO has just published images of two sets that will be released next year to tie in with The LEGO Batman Movie: The Batmobile and Joker’s Notorious Lowrider. If you saw my post for the April 2017 LEGO Store Calendar, you probably saw that the US is finally getting the LEGO Creator Mini Volkswagen Beetle (40252) as part of a promotion. A reader has let me know this morning that there are some LEGO minifigure plushies that has been released in stores or will be released soon.

Currently, there are four characters to choose from including Batman (853652) and Batgirl (853653) from The LEGO Batman Movie and Kai (853691) and Nya (853692) from LEGO Ninjago. Each minifigure plush will stand 12″ tall and are made with brushed tricot fabric with silkscreen-printed decoration. Update: They have shown up on . Today is the last day for the promotion to get The LEGO Batman Movie Disco Batman/Tears of Batman (30607) polybag at LEGO Stores and on . You can get it for free with purchases of $75 or more. The polybag is fairly easy to get especially with a lot of new sets already available. I’ve already done a review of the polybag if you haven’t checked it out yet. LEGO Ideas has announced the winner of the Second 2016 Review Stage and it is the Women of NASA. This set was stated to be releases in late 2017 or early 2018. In addition, the Voltron – Defender of the Universe project is still under consideration so that could also be a set in the future.

The results of that will be announced at the Third 2016 Review results. There were twelve projects that qualified for review which included Voltron – Defender of the Universe, Spaceballs – Eagle 5, The Addams Family Mansion, the Merchant’s House, the Large Hadron Collider, LEGO Observatory – Mountain View, Modular Construction Site, the Women of NASA, Star Wars UCS X34 Landspeeder, Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, Lovelace & Babbage, and The Plum Creek – The Little House on the Prairie. Honestly, the Women of NASA project didn’t really surprise me because LEGO does have a partnership with NASA and there are a few space-themed sets already including the upcoming Saturn V one for later this year. What do you guys think if the project that was chosen to become an official LEGO Ideas set? Sound off in the comments below. If you haven’t picked up the LEGO Ideas Caterham Seven 620R (21307) yet, Amazon has it on sale for a pretty decent price of $59.99 which is 25% off the retail price.
