The Lego Batman Movie Consumer AdviceMild themes and animated violence Release Date30 March 2017 Available in 2D and 3D In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble—LEGO® Batman—stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up. Will Arnett reprises his starring role from “The LEGO Movie” as the voice of LEGO Batman, aka Bruce Wayne. Zach Galifianakis (the “Hangover” films, “Muppets Most Wanted”) stars as The Joker; Michael Cera (TV’s “Arrested Development”) as the orphan Dick Grayson; Rosario Dawson (TV’s “Daredevil”) as Barbara Gordon; and Ralph Fiennes (the “Harry Potter” films) as Alfred. “The LEGO Batman Movie” is directed by Chris McKay, and produced by Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Roy Lee, who worked together on “The LEGO Movie.”

Jill Wilfert, Matthew Ashton, Will Allegra and Brad Lewis serve as executive producers. The screenplay is by Seth Grahame-Smith and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers and Jared Stern & John Whittington, story by Seth Grahame-Smith, based on LEGO Construction Toys and based on characters from DC Entertainment. Batman was created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger; Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Production designer Grant Freckelton and editor David Burrows also return from “The LEGO Movie,” joined by editors Matt Villa, and John Venzon. The music is composed by Lorne Balfe. From Warner Bros. Pictures and Warner Animation Group, in association with LEGO System A/S, a Lin Pictures / Lord Miller / Vertigo Entertainment production, “The LEGO Batman Movie” will open in theaters in 3D, 2D and IMAX. IT APPEARS that even a $5 million mistake wasn’t enough to make Village Roadshow reconsider its global release date for films. In 2014, Australian audiences got a cinematic release of The Lego Movie 54 days after it had screened in the US.Aussies decided they didn’t want to wait almost two months to see the film, so they turned to piracy — a common practice for most delayed content. With The Lego Movie on course to become the most pirated release of 2014, Village Roadshow chief executive Graham Burke acknowledged the costly mistake.“We estimate that (piracy of) The Lego Movie cost somewhere between $3.5 million and $5 million in sales,” he said, reportedThe Australian.“

It was doubly painful because Lego was produced in Australia. Piracy not only impacts profits, but if unchecked will impede new business models and growth.”Mr Burke went on to say that Village Roadshow would make an effort to distribute all major films at the same time as the US release, in an attempt to combat rampant online piracy. At least that’s what he said.@BrickingAround LEGO Batman will be released in Australia on 30th March, 2017.— Roadshow Films (@RoadshowFilms) December 5, 2016 This week Village Roadshow announced on Twitter that Australia would be getting Lego: Batman movie on March 30, 2017. This would be great if it wasn’t some 48 days later than the February 10 release date for the US.While a slightly shorter period, the logic behind repeating history and delaying the release is yet to be seen.Maybe Village Roadshow is just hoping really hard that Aussies will wait for the release instead of pirating the film.Unfortunately, the likelihood of this happening is slim to none.

.au has reached out to Village Roadshow for comment regarding the delay. The Lego Batman Movie works precisely because it knows audiences are sick of its hero. It's a reassessment, an intervention, an effort to try and remember what's fun about him. The sequel of sorts... is not quite as good, but at its best, it has the same whiplash wit and inspired freneticism. The thing about a sequel or a spinoff, even a mostly fun one like The LEGO Batman Movie, is that it's hard to recreate enthusiasm and inventiveness. What was once new is now, already, routine. Overall, The Lego Batman Movie offers enough action and silliness to enthrall children while providing sufficient pop culture and Batman-through-the-years references to keep adults entertained. Basically, it's a standard-issue Batman narrative - arguably better than 50 per cent of history's other Batman films - that just happens to take place in a Lego-fied world. It's the Bat-spoof we didn't know we needed and it gives Batman a chance to loosen up.

While it may lack the out-of-nowhere surprise factor of the first film, The LEGO Batman Movie is a more-than-worthy extension of both the LEGO and Batman screen franchises. Very funny but a little bit all over the place, "The LEGO Batman Movie" is fun for all ages he result is more fun than Batman's been since Adam West hung up his purple tights. Somewhere, surely, Batman's late creators Bob Kane and Bill Finger are smiling. Sacramento News & Review If you go to the movie theater without any other pretension than to have a good time this is the most suitable and entertaining option. Based on 4474 fan ratings By Van Wyk Productions The Lego Batman Movie is a sequel/spin-off to the very well received Lego Movie. It stars Will Arnett as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Michael Cera as Dick Grayson/Robin, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Rosario Dawson as Barbra Gordon/Batgirl and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker.

Off of the success of The Lego Movie, many have had great anticipation for this film, besides just being from the Lego Movie. So was the Lego Batman movie good, bad or just ok? Let's dive into it, shall we? The beauty of seeing this film was that I didn't go alone; I had guest reviewers Alex Weis and Corbett Baratta there with me as well. Afterwards, I asked them for a short blurb on their thoughts about the film. Corbett had this to say about it, "Funny, heartwarming, an all around fun flick." And Alex said, "The LEGO Batman Movie is a such a fun, hilarious, action packed ride, after you walk out of the theater, you will have a big, dumb Joker-like grin on your face. It's a movie that not only makes fun of Batman but 100 percent gets Batman at the same time." I myself must admit that I had a blast with this film! It was probably the most funniest and action packed Batman film I've seen! Now, don't take that as me saying this is the best Batman film OF ALL TIME! That's not what I'm saying.

What I'm saying is that this movie had certain traits to it that made it very enjoyable and kept me invested the whole time. Will Arnett is a great Batman and the rest of the cast is just as good! This movie makes a lot of jabs at previous Batman films and even TV series; so if you've seen everything Batman wise up to this point, then pay attention for the many references that are sprinkled in the film. Plot wise, it's actually pretty standard, Batman has to save the day with the aid of his trusty side-kick, or side-kicks in this case, from an evil that could threaten Gotham. However, the way the film is done, and the fact that it just has so many jokes in it, makes the standard plot even more enjoyable. And I have to say that the creators of the film really went out of their way to bring in characters that I didn't expect to see in this film. With that being said, if there are any Doctor Who fans, you're in for a short but very sweet surprise; sadly it's not the Doctor himself, but that would've been awesome!

The way things were put together, like how smooth the lego objects worked in comparison to each other, was brilliantly done once again! I mean, I was very impressed with how well it was done. I also imagined that with legos it'd be harder to make something look really good, but this movie did it perfectly. Obviously, most of it was done in the Lego Movie, but I feel like smoothness wise, this film was a touch better, but very close in quality, so either way very good! So what's the overall verdict, you're probably asking by this point. Well it's very enjoyable, has great references to previous Batman works, and just overall is a great film! So I would definitely recommend seeing this film! And let me be clear on one thing; this is for both adults and kids. Both can get enjoyment out of this film. I mean, in my theater tonight, everyone was at least above 20 years old, and there was laughter heard quite often from them, so that should prove even adults can enjoy this! Great for the whole family.
