Sometimes the only thing more awe-inspiring than a city is a massive model of the city, rendered down to the finest detail. Here are some of the most obsessively-rendered models of cities that you'll ever see. And of course, they're to scale. Which is itself amazing. (via Los Angeles and the Problem of Urban Historical Knowledge) (via EnglishRussia and Wurlington Bros) (via Buenos Aires Local Tours) (via Stuck in Customs and Study Shanghai) (via Matthew Winchester, Ray Bouknight and Steve Jurvetson)s Box Office: ‘Lego Batman’ flies high over ‘Great Wall,’ ‘Fist Fight’ February 20, 2017, 11:12 AM ) – “The Lego Batman Movie” is dominating the North American box office with an estimated $44 million this President’s Day weekend — nearly matching the combined haul of “Fifty Shades Darker” and “The Great Wall.” Universal’s second weekend of “Fifty Shades” is heading for $24 million at 3,714 sites and its action-fantasy “The Great Wall” was projected to wind up with $21 million at 3,325 locations for the Friday-Monday period.

Lionsgate’s second weekend of “John Wick: Chapter 2” is finishing in a solid fourth place with $19.5 million at 3,113 venues as holdovers propped up the holiday weekend business. New Line’s opening of high school comedy “Fist Fight” showed only a modest punch in fifth with around $14 million at 3,185 locations. And Fox’s horror-thriller “A Cure for Wellness” was scaring up a modest $4.9 million at 2,704 screens as it was projected to finish 11th. “Lego Batman,” Warner Bros.’ spinoff of 2014’s “The Lego Movie,” is playing at 4,088 sites and will wind up the weekend with more than $108 million in its first 11 days. It opened with $53 million on the Feb. 10-12 weekend, so it’s declined by only 35 percent in the second Friday-Sunday period. Will Arnett returns as the voice of Batman, along with Zach Galifianakis, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson, and Ralph Fiennes. “Lego Batman” scored strong critical support with a 91 percent “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

“Fifty Shades Darker” declined about 55 percent from its opening weekend and should finish the weekend with an 11-day total of $93 million. Universal’s “The Great Wall” is performing above recent forecasts, which had pegged the film to finish in the $17 million range. Still, the number isn’t particularly impressive, given the $150 million budget for the Legendary production — the most expensive movie ever shot in China. Matt Damon stars as a European mercenary joining the fight against monsters during China’s Song Dynasty. .ph, North American box office, The Lego Batman Movie HomeNewsOpinionsBusinessEntertainmentSportsLifestyleTechnologyFaithOffbeatSpecialJobsBookingShopEpaperAbout MBContact MBSubscribeNewsletterAdvertisePrivacy PolicyRSS Enter Your Zip Code What our customers say My daughter loved the Disney Princess bouncer and the delivery guy was quick and professional. Being Followed By A Giant Mouse I’m talking about that giant mouse following you around everywhere you go. Turn on the TV, he's there. Drive down the street, there are those ears staring back at you from a billboard.

People can't avoid Mickey's reach. 2. It’s Always Time For A Brew In Anaheim The Anaheim Brewery first opened its doors in 1870. A century and a half is a pretty good track record, and it’s also a lot of time to perfect the perfect glass of beer. There is also the very popular Nobel Ale Works in town as well as Bottle Logic Brewing, and Bootleggers, Valiant Brewing, Four Sons Brewery, and Old Orange Brewing are just a rock skip outside of Anaheim. And what better time to enjoy it than Oktoberfest, which is like Oktoberfest anywhere else only a few billion times better. 3. There’s No Doubt About The Music Pop bands come and go, but as far as Anaheim is concerned, No Doubt will live forever. Locals always hold out hope that their hometown band will announce a show back in their hood. 4. Being The Hipsters Of Halloween You don’t know a truly fun Halloween until you’ve spent it in Anaheim. It’s been running strong for over 90 years, so obviously they take it very seriously.

That’s probably why the streets fill up with upwards of 30,000 goblins and ghouls for a party that feels as much like Mardi Gras as it does Halloween. 5. The Only Thing That Makes A Donut Better Everybody loves donuts, right? Of course they do. But donuts in Anaheim are even better than the standard fare because Anaheim has M&M Donuts and you don’t. This place is so popular, there’s never not a line to wait in, but there’s a reason why people do it and that’s because life is too short to not enjoy delicious donuts. 6. Heading Downtown Still Means Disney The folks in Anaheim might avoid Disneyland at all costs, but one notable exception is Downtown Disney. Unlike the Disneyland park, there are no admission fees so it’s free to go. Sure, everything is a little overpriced, but you can almost always find a good time. There’s the ESPN Zone sports bar, Rainforest Café, a build-your-own-race car store, and the Lego Store is always a popular destination, because seeing a giant Darth Vader crafted out of the popular toy never, ever gets old.

7. Beach Bums That Work Their Bums Off Anaheim is full of the tightly-toned and tanned tushes that make up the USA National Volleyball team. It’s where they train as the official host city. You can even jump out from the sidelines and get in the game yourself in one of the many amateur leagues, too. 8. Having A Pro Sports Team Based On A Disney Movie What, your city’s hockey team wasn’t created out of thin air around a kid’s movie? Sucks to be you! Luckily for Anaheim, they have all of that and more in their team, The Anaheim Ducks, formerly known as The Mighty Ducks. In the twenty years since they’ve been around, the Ducks have made it to the playoffs ten times and taken home three Pacific Division titles along with two Western Conference Championships. And, oh yeah, they even got themselves one of those giant cups from some guy named Stanley. 9. Being The Real City Of Angels Los Angeles can call itself the City of Angels. But Anaheim is the real home of The Angels.

The Angels have played at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim since 1996 and there’s a lot of pride in those stands. 10. Being Everybody’s Best Friend When you live in Anaheim, get used to being everybody’s best friend, especially around the holidays and summer months. Your couch is a lot cheaper than a hotel. It’s actually pretty nice having a constant influx of visitors and you get used to it after a while. But, if you have any beef with it, take it up with that big-eared mouse. It’s really all his fault, anyway. Did we miss anything?
