These are the instructions for building the LEGO The LEGO Movie Melting Room that was released in 2014. It is the second second smallest set in the theme coming in at 122 pieces. It retails for $12.99 with a $0.11/piece ratio. The box includes 3 un-numbered bags, one small instruction booklet, and a grey octagon plate. There are three minifigures included in this set: Emmet, Wyldstyle, and a Robo SWAT. Emmet in wearing his orange construction outfit that we’ve seen before in previous reviews. He is also wearing the Piece of Resistance on his back. This version of Emmet also has a double-sided head with a smirk on one side and a scared expression on the other. Nothing too interesting here. We’ll see him again in other sets. Wyldstyle is back in her usual black, purple, and blue hooded jacket but in this version, she has a separate sof plastic hood piece which is pretty cool.

The torso has printing that you would see a SWAT member have. The legs also has some of the uniform printing. It has a grey robotic head with red scanner. The Robo SWAT has a cool looking gun that has a clip to attach a scope on top. As the name of the set suggests, the set is based on the Melting Room although there are no walls at all. Maybe the set should be called the “Melting Area” instead. The room is set up to remove the Piece of Resistance from Emmet’s back by the Robo SWAT. On the left side of the room is a small platform with a tool rack with a pair of handcuffs. In the main area of the Melting Room, there is a table that spins and rotates to put Emmet into position. There are also a couple of chains to hold him down. To the right is the adjustable laser created with a Technic wheel and a red lightsaber connected to a hose.
There is also a small control panel to operate the laser. Overall, the Melting Room (70801) is a great little set considering the price you pay for it. At $13, you get a couple of protagonists in the movie as well as a bad guy. The scene depicts what may be a pivotal scene in the movie. For you builders, you get a lot of cool pieces and a lot of leftover pieces too after you’ve finished building the set (see below). Operate the console inside and play the hacker minigame to open the door in the back. In the room, use a grapple gun or lasso to pull open the door in the upper left. Go inside and repair the machine.
Use the nearby agility pad to cross to the center walkway then use a construction worker to operate the switch on the center island. Push the green thing on the left across the newly created bridge to the center island. A new bridge to the right will appear. Use Uni-Kitty to smash the rainbow bricks and build with the remains. Use a female character to follow the agility path to the upper walkway. In the room in the back, push the agility pole to the left. Use the pole to cross the gap. On the other side you'll find a room with another console. Hack it to open the door to the room where the Agility Pants are. After building the ladder on the construction pad, climb up to the next area. On the left wall is an agility course. Climb along the wall and you'll pass under a large window. Drop down onto the beam just past the window and you'll find the Golden Manual sitting on it. In the alley, head to the back and use a laser on the gold lock to break it. In the back on the left is a console.
Successfully hack it to reveal a Golden Manual. Required: laser, Uni-Kitty, Vitruvius At the front of the alley on the left side is another gold lock. Bust it with a laser and use Uni-Kitty to destroy the rainbow brick object beyond and build a launch pad out of the remains. The launch pad will chuck you to the other side of the alley. Climb up the ladder and shim across the blue and white ledge with Vitruvius to reach the Golden Manual. Required: laser, Uni-Kitty, agility In the same area where you find Golden Manual 3 is a staircase. Climb the stairs and use the agility objects to reach the Golden Manual on a balcony on the opposite side of the alley. During the chase sequence, right after Wyldstlye instructs you to shoot the back of a fuel tanker she's hanging off the side of, the game will enter slow motion. Simply hold down the fire button and keep it held down. You will destroy four enemy vehicles and automatically pick up the last Golden Manual.30282 Super Secret Police Enforcer
