The Lego Batman Movie works precisely because it knows audiences are sick of its hero. It's a reassessment, an intervention, an effort to try and remember what's fun about him. February 15, 2017 | The sequel of sorts... is not quite as good, but at its best, it has the same whiplash wit and inspired freneticism. February 10, 2017 | The thing about a sequel or a spinoff, even a mostly fun one like The LEGO Batman Movie, is that it's hard to recreate enthusiasm and inventiveness. What was once new is now, already, routine. Overall, The Lego Batman Movie offers enough action and silliness to enthrall children while providing sufficient pop culture and Batman-through-the-years references to keep adults entertained. Basically, it's a standard-issue Batman narrative - arguably better than 50 per cent of history's other Batman films - that just happens to take place in a Lego-fied world. It's the Bat-spoof we didn't know we needed and it gives Batman a chance to loosen up.

Warner Bros. found a smash hit in 2014 by taking the beloved building blocks of LEGOs and building an entire movie around them. The LEGO Movie was filled with different worlds and recognizable stars, and has since produced a spinoff film centered around Will Arnett’s Batman, in The LEGO Batman Movie. The spinoff is set to hit theaters next week, which gives WB the time to thereafter turn everyone’s attention to the second LEGO project arriving in 2017, The LEGO Ninjago Movie. Ninjago will be the third installment of the LEGO Movie Universe; but unlike Batman, it will revolve around an entirely new cast of characters. So far, the official cast consists of Olivia Munn, Justin Theroux, Dave Franco, Jackie Chan, Michael Pena, Fred Armisen, and more. The marketing has only just begun on the ninja adventure by introducing Chan as Master Wu, but that could change relatively soon. Trailer Track is reporting that the first trailer for Ninjago has been classified with a 2 minute 23 second runtime.

They are expecting WB to release the trailer before LEGO Batman Movie hits theaters, so that the newest LEGO based movie can help to promote the upcoming one. With LEGO Batman Movie just over a week away from release, the trailer could be online any day now. This is a smart move by WB, should the studio actually release the Ninjago trailer ahead of LEGO Batman Movie. Now, when audiences are seated for the film, they will get to see what the next installment of this LEGO universe will be. That said, there is not expected to be any direct crossover between the next two LEGO films, but a cameo by one of the Ninjago ninjas in LEGO Batman Movie could be in play. The Ninjago LEGO sets are relatively new additions to the LEGO lore. They first came out in 2011 and are not your prototypical ninjas. Yes, they still use martial arts, but have also featured vehicles and sometimes giant mech suits. While this brand of the building blocks may not be as well known as Batman, the movie should be able to bring all of these elements together in a fun adventure with lots of action.

That said, with no marketing yet to be had for Ninjago, WB will have to push the film heavily ahead of its October release date. This will be an easier task if LEGO Batman Movie is a hit just like The LEGO Movie, making audiences more interested in seeing another LEGO film so (relatively) soon. The hope is that their different concepts and genres, not to mention the talent involved behind the scenes, will help to better distinguish these LEGO films from one another. We should have a better idea of whether or not that’s the case, when the LEGO Ninjago Movie trailer hits the scene. The LEGO Ninjago Movie release date: Sep 22, 2017‘LEGO Frozen Northern Lights’ Trailer Shows Off Anna & Elsa’s Building Block AdventuresPosted on Saturday, November 19th, 2016 by Ethan AndertonWhile Frozen fans are patiently waiting for a sequel to the 2013 hit animated musical, they might take solace in a batch of new animated shorts coming to The Disney Channel next month. However, these versions of their favorite characters are a little different because their inspired by the LEGO versions of them found in the building block playsets.

LEGO Frozen Northern Lights is a new collection of animated shorts featuring the building block versions of Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven on an adventure to restore the glimmer of the Northern Lights, which are barely visible from the kingdom of Arendelle. Now the first LEGO Frozen Northern Lights trailer has arrived, and you can watch it below. Here’s the LEGO Frozen Northern Lights trailer from Yahoo:This might look a little hokey, but we’re talking about a Disney Channel short with LEGO characters intended to distract kids so their parents can have some time to wrap Christmas presents, cook dinner or just have a little time to themselves during the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Plus, if you’ve ever played any LEGO video games, you’ll know this meta, cheesy style is right in line with their media brand. If you’re wondering why these character interpretations don’t look much like the LEGO minifigures you might be used to in traditional LEGO sets or The LEGO Movie, that’s because the LEGO Frozen line has its figures modeled after the LEGO Friends and LEGO Disney Princess design style, which are geared more towards young girls.

Making this a little more interesting than it otherwise might be is the fact that Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff are voiced by cast members Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff. However, it’s not clear if there will be any original songs used in these shorts or not. This goes hand-in-hand with a novelization that was released back in July called Disney Frozen Northern Lights: Journey to the Lights, available now. The storyline from the book is being reimagined in the form of four animated shorts that make up LEGO Frozen Northern Lights.Even though it doesn’t look like a new animated classic or anything like that, this could easily become a programming staple for kids to enjoy every Christmas. It may not be as highly regarded as something like A Charlie Brown Christmas or How the Grinch Stole Christmas, but surely kids will still love it.LEGO Frozen Northern Lights debuts on Friday, December 9 at 8pm ET on Disney Channel.See videos on HYPEBEAST TV If you were one of the many movie-goers disappointed with Batman v.
