It had been startling and disappointing to me to find out that story books had been written by people, that books were not natural wonders, coming up of themselves like grass. Play-Well Northwest is open for scheduled programs, parties, or by special appointment. Download our "Program Calendar" for complete list of scheduled program times. We do not currently offer any Drop-in sessions for free build, but welcome you to try our many Workshops. Click on a link below for a printable class calendar (pdf). During the school year (Sept.-May) we offer drop-in building on Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons from 3:00-6:00. We offer structured and free form hands-on activities in engineering, physics, architecture, and art. Children and adults can use hundreds of thousands of LEGO elements to independently and cooperatively pursue their interests.




Drop in for an hour and work on a belt drive car. Stay for a couple of hours and work on that 'really big project'. Guidance is provided by staff. Physical, mathematical, and aesthetic concepts are continually reinforced. Drop-In rates are $10/hr per child for children 5 and up. For children under age 5, drop in s $7/hr with a parent or guardian present. We host the party so you can relax and enjoy the event. During our high energy parties, you have access to our Play-Well Northwest Activity Center for 2 hours with our amazing instructor. We provide 90 minutes of instructor time where kids build and play with the chosen project. While the children are playing, parents are free to set up decorations and food in the party room, or join in with the building. The last 30 minutes is set aside for pizza, cake, ice cream etc. in our party room. Food and decorations are provided and served by the parents. You may also order Pizza to be delivered by many local restaurants.




Parents of guests are welcome to remain during the program, or you may drop-off and return for pick up at the end of the party. Parties are offered on Saturdays and Sundays for ages 5-105. Time slots are available at 10:00~12:00pm, 1:00pm~3:00pm, and 4:00pm-6:00pm. Team Building and Morale Boosters are available weekdays by special request. Prices for parties at Play-Well Northwest for a 2 hour event for ages 5 and up, are $350 for up to 16 kids and $475 for 17 to 24 kids. Play-Well supports the Puget Sound Homeschool community with our engaging and exciting engineering programs using LEGO. Students learn how things work with Engineering Concepts, learn about culture in Art & Architecture, become an inventor with Leonardo de Vinci, discover logic and programming with Robotics, and step back in time with History.




Homeschool programs are held during the school day, but are open to everyone. Workshops are are one-time programs. Classes are held once a week for multiple-weeks. Programs are offered Tuesdays and Fridays for two hours, 10:00am-12:00pm, and will explore various engineering concepts and present exciting challenges to both new and returning students. Enter our Workshops to discover new projects and engineering concepts, to experiment with fresh ideas, and to expand your understanding of Engineering and Architecture. Workshops are held weekdays after school, Saturday mornings, and on special days with early release. During each session we will build an exciting project and explore a variety of building and engineering concepts. Projects will explore concepts using gears, pulleys, motors  with discussion of six Simple Machines. Workshops are offered to ages 5-7 and 8-12. Each session in limited to 16 children. Parents are welcome to remain during the program, or you may drop-off and return for pick up at the end of the program.




Even the youngest minds need to explore the world of engineering. Our Build-It! with LEGO Duplo programs offer just the right opportunity for kids ages 3-5. Build-It workshops are held in the mornings, 10:00-11:00am, so you can get back home before nap time. During each session we will create a project and explore building and engineering concepts. Projects may include see-saw, cars, cranes, planes, fishing poles, and many other exciting project. We will explore concepts using technical beams, axles, gears, pulleys and Duplo bricks. Programs are open to everyone age 3-5, and each session is limited to ten children. Parents are asked to remain during the program, to be available if your child needs building assistance or must using the restroom. You are welcome to join the program and work and play with your child. Seattle Outdoor Movies: Amica Insurance Movies at Magnuson Park. Events feature big screen flicks, live entertainment, trivia and Seattle’s best food trucks. 




2017 is the seventh season of the outdoor cinema at Magnuson Park.  Events run weekly on Thursdays evenings from July 6 – Aug. 24, 2017.  Presented by Seattle Children’s. There is a lot to the N of the athletic fields and one to the SE.  There is limited parking to the west of the athletic fields.  There is limited parking space so please carpool, bike, walk or bus. What to Bring: Our outdoor cinema packing list includes low back lawn chairs or blankets, friends, family, dogs and money for fun and food. Times: Seating opens at 6:30 pm. Event entertainment, trivia and activity times vary. Movies show at dusk after event entertainment. Food Trucks: We’ll have Seattle’s best food trucks selling hot food,  snacks, kettle corn, sweet treats, ice cream and more.   Come hungry and get your grub on before the movie.  Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted. Live acts:  See events above Trivia: Movie trivia gets you thinking before each film and offers the chance to win great prizes Game Show Events: A variety of entertaining game show style events will take place for prizes. Dog Friendly: Well behaved dogs and owners are always welcome.




Location / Directions: The entrance to the Seattle’s Magnuson Park is at 7400 Sand Point Way NE -or- NE 65th St. and Sand Point Way NE.  This is in the NE area of Seattle, not far from from the University of Washington and Husky Stadium. The outdoor cinema takes place in the grass athletic fields with lots of room for blankets chairs and comfortable viewing. Rain or Shine: All of our outdoor movies in the park are rain or shine.
