Home Entertainment and Village Roadshow Pictures. Directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” “21 Jump Street”), “The LEGO Movie” is the hilarious story of a nobody who saves everybody. “The LEGO Movie” stars Chris Pratt as the voice of Emmet, an ordinary LEGO minifigure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, and Will Ferrell as the voice of President Business, aka Lord Business, an uptight CEO who has a hard time balancing world domination with micro-managing his own life. Will Arnett (“The Millers”) as the mysterious BatmanÔ, a LEGO minifigure with whom Wyldstyle shares a history; Nick Offerman (“Parks and Recreation”) as the craggy, swaggering pirate Metal Beard, obsessed with revenge on Lord Business; Alison Brie (“Community”) as the sweet and loveable Unikitty and Charlie Day (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) as Benny, the 1980-something Spaceman. From a story by Dan Hageman, Kevin Hageman, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, “The LEGO Movie” was produced by Dan Lin (“Gangster Squad,”) and Roy Lee (“The Grudge”), with Jill Wilfert, Matthew Ashton, Kathleen Fleming, Allison Abbate, Zareh Nalbandian, Jon Burton, Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. After 2014's The Lego Movie earned $257.8 million in America and $469.2 million globally, it was the opposite of a surprise to hear they had an actual Lego Batman Movie was on the way. Also a total non-shock: Arrested Development fave Will Arnett would continue to wield the grainy Bat-voice and the Arnett-ian ego.Today's trailer for the Feb. 10, 2017 flick shows nothing's changed...except that Batman's into hip-hop now. A fourth-wall-breaking opener teaches us that The Lego Batman Movie is "written, directed, sound-mixed, choreographed, and painstakingly beatboxed by me." You could guess who "me" is; you couldn't guess that Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” is the ensuing soundtrack to the trailer. The clip's a great point-blank reminder of exactly how fun and funny The Lego Movie was, and how fantastic the actual Legos and animation and scenery all turned out. The new movie will feature voice-acting work from, in ascending order of mind-blow-iness: Michael Cera (Robin), Rosario Dawson (Batgirl), Zach Galifianakis (The Joker) and Mariah Carey (Gotham's mayor).
