This program encourages reading 1000 books to each child before they start kindergarten. The concept may be simple, but the rewards are priceless, and we make it fun and easy. Come into the library and sign up your family. Bookworm Buddies is for 3, 4, and 5 year olds on Thursday mornings at 10:00 am. Bookworm Buddies will be held January 12 –March 30. This program concentrates on pre-reading and beginning reading skills in a fun story hour format. There will be stories, finger plays, puppets, crafts, and other activities. There is no pre-registration, so come and join us. R.E.A.D stands for Reading Education Assistance Dogs, but for our next 6-week session we will once again have a therapy rabbit for some of the children’s reading practice.
This will be held on Thursday evenings, January 19-February 23. There will be a very limited number of openings for children wishing to read to a registered therapy dog or rabbit, so sign up quickly! Sign up will be January 9-14. We are also exploring the option of a second session in April-May. Building Buddies January-May we will meet at 6:30 pm the second Monday of each month (Jan. 9, Feb.13, Mar. 13, April 10 and May 8) to build with Legos.
