Two of the most beloved movie franchises of Summer 2014 happened to star goofball turned action hero, Chris Pratt. To the surprise of the bean counters, both “The LEGO Movie” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” far exceeded box office expectations. Meaning right now, in some windowless room, a cabal of hooded Hollywood executives are intoning to the dark lord Cthulhu to send them Chris Pratt clones to headline every film from now until the sun explodes.* But what might future Chris Pratt clone vehicles – backed by Elder Thing financing – look like? Well if his two other successes are any indication, exactly like them. Because “LEGO” and “Guardians” are pretty much the same movie. The only real difference? Gamora doesn't fall prey to Trinity Syndrome while her minifig counterpart Wyldstyle sadly does. *Personally I 100% endorse this plea to our eldritch overlords. This is the basic premise for The LEGO Batman Movie, a premise that’s far and away better than what we’ve seen from the live-action DC Universe films so far. This is a Batman who isn’t battling the demons of his deceased parents – instead he just misses them. (And, thank heavens, we aren’t subjected to yet another depiction of poor Thomas and Martha Wayne being murdered.) My favorite part in the The LEGO Batman Movie comes after the film opens with an action scene in which Batman (Will Arnett, reprising his role from The LEGO Movie) battles a whole host of villains – ranging from The Joker (Zach Galifianakis) to Condiment King (Batman believes Condiment King might be made up).

Batman returns home to an enormous but empty home. Oh, sure, Alfred (Ralph Fiennes) is around, but has long since gone to sleep, but has left sad Batman with a lobster he can heat up. So there’s Batman, wearing a casual robe and his cowl, in a long and awkward extended shot of him trying to heat up a lobster in a microwave. He then retreats to his private home theater and watches Jerry Maguire by himself. When Rene Zellweger says, “You had me at hello,” Batman laughs, then looks around to see he has no one else to laugh with. It’s all very sad. There are 20 Red Bricks to be found in The LEGO Movie Videogame, five in each of the four hub worlds: Bricksburg, The Old West, Cloud Cuckoo Land and The Octan Tower.  When found and purchased, each Red Brick unlocks a cheat in the Extras menu such as stud multipliers and invincibility. Collect 3 Instruction Pages and use the Instruction Build Pad. Head to the park in the residential area and smash a tree to reveal a Master Builder spot. Use it to build something new out of the two manned stands and archway (make sure you didn't smash them; exit the hub world and return if you did) and the Red Brick will appear. Use the secret knock spot by the wall on the building across from the police station. Open it up and head inside. Smash the boxes and build a ledge out of the resulting bricks. Walk across and use the crane. Drop down and fix the crane. An object will be flung to the fountain square. Head to the fountain square and push the object to the pedestal in front of the fountain. The Red Brick will appear nearby.

Find all five of Mrs. Scratchen-Post's missing cats. One of the buildings is on fire. Use a character with an extinguisher to put out the fires. Startle five birds off their perches. It's on the roof of the green building to the right of the bank. Go to the bank and you'll be tasked with finding three robbers and bringing back each one's gold bar. Open three Uni-Kitty Jack-in-the-Boxes. Launch three fireworks with the firestarter panels (use explosives or Lady Liberty). Blow up the silver wall in the main area. Just inside is a Master Build Spot you can use to create some stairs. Run up, cross the rope with an agility character (or fly) and you'll find the Red Brick in the room at the top. Destroy the gold wall in the main area with a laser. Inside you'll find an area with three groups of spinnable panels. Spin the panels so that they make a picture matching the nearby object. Each panel will emit a small firework when it's in the correct position. Build five grapple points and use them to yank down five signs.
