In their continuing effort to keep things awesome, Warner Bros. Animation has signed on Trolls director Mike Mitchell to helm the forthcoming sequel to The Lego Movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Previously slated director Rob Schrab (Community, The Mindy Project) is said to have dropped out of the project due to “creative differences.” Phil Lord and Chris Miller, current Han Solo stand-alone directors and directors of the original (surprisingly good) Lego Movie, wrote the first draft of the script, with BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg having followed after with the second. Mitchell likely seems like a safer bet for the studio, with Schrab primarily being known as a TV comedy actor and director (though having a similar pedigree seemed to work out well for the Captain America-directing Russo brothers). Trolls raked in nearly $339 million in its worldwide gross, which probably stood out on the newly signed director’s resume. The first Lego Movie was a huge hit, having made $469 million internationally.

The Lego Batman Movie, a spin-off of that film starring Will Arnett’s popular take on the toy version of Batman, hits theaters exactly a week from today. With the announcement of the new director, The Lego Movie 2’s release date was also pushed back nine months. The Lego Movie 2 is now set for release on Feb. 9, 2019.The Lego Batman Movie: latest trailer released The Lego Batman Movie is another forthcoming film that has been exciting fans at the annual Comic Con in California this weekend, with the latest trailer released on Saturday night. The computer-animated comedy is a spin-off from 2014's The Lego Movie, which took place inside a world built from Lego based on the imagination of a little boy. Lego Batman is voiced by Will Arnett (Bojack Horseman, Arrested Development) and takes a wry look at the traditionally troubled and moody portrayal of the superhero on the big screen by directors such as Christopher Nolan. Arnett is joined by Ralph Fiennes, who voices butler Alfred Pennyworth and Rosario Dawson as Batgirl.

Other cast members include Michael Cera, who also starred in Arrested Development, Zach Galifianakis as The Joker and Mariah Carey, who voices Mayor Marion Grange. Ahead of the trailer, Warner Bros released photographs of Arnett and Lego Batman as well as the film's poster. The movie is due to be released in February 2017.Lego Movie 2 release delayed which isn't so awesome It will now bow into cinemas almost five years after the original Monday 20 June 2016 13:11 BST Smash hit animation The Lego Movie stunned the box office into submission when it was released back in 2014 becoming one of the year's biggest hits in the process. Unfortunately, its sequel - which was initially due to be released May 2018 - has been pushed back to February 2019, almost five years since the first bowed into cinemas. Deadline reports that The Lego Movie 2 (aptly titled The Lego Movie Sequel) is just one of a numerous number of release dates that Warner Bros has shifted. The film will be directed by comedy writer Rob Schrab in his directorial debut.

He replaces Phil Lord and Chris Miller who'll instead be steering the upcoming Han Solo Star Wars prequel with Alden Ehrenreich. Elsewhere, while new Ben Affleck Live by Night has excitingly been brought forward from October to January 2017. Spin-off The Lego Batman Movie is moving ahead as planned - it'll be released 10 February 2017. Directed by Chris McKay - who worked as an animation co-director on the original alongside Lord and Miller - the film will feature all the characters you'd associate with the world of Gotham. Robin (Michael Cera), Batgirl (Rosario Dawson) and Bruce Wayne's trusty butler, Alfred Pennyworth (Ralph Fiennes) will all appear, with Zach Galifianakis lending his voice to The Joker.Movie 2The Lego MovieBatman MovieLego BatmanJacob S NinjagoNinjago MovieNinjago BoardLego NinjagoDates NinjagoForwardWarner Bros. revealed the Lego film franchise release dates; Ninjago is due in 2016 followed by The Lego Batman Movie in 2017 and The Lego Movie 2 in 2018.

"Charlie Bean’s Ninjago will arrive in 2016; it’ll be produced by Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Phil Lord and Chris Miller." Downey is not entirely comfortable playing straight man and a little of Galifianakis's antics goes a long way. January 3, 2011 | Films like Get Him to the Greek have already done a far superior job with madcap this year. November 6, 2010 | The most offensive bodily fluid being hurled around in Due Date are the tears that Phillips dishonestly tries to wrest from the audience's eyes. November 5, 2010 | Due Date is funny enough, but it should have been funnier. Todd Phillips needs to get off the road. As in the most useless sitcoms, the laffs depend entirely on someone behaving as ridiculously as possible, in uninteresting ways devised by the dullest minds.After the hit success of The Lego Movie, Lego and Warner Brothers decided to give a spinoff to Lego Batman. In the movie, Lego Batman must give up his sense of pride and independence and join up forces to prevent the Joker’s takeover of Gothem;

he may have to learn to laugh and smile along the way as well. The Lego Batman Movie is a successful follow up to The Lego Movie. The targeted audience towards this movie is younger kids, but doesn’t fail to entertain the older audience. A lot of the jokes in the movie excel in making any age laugh. This includes a couple jokes that would fly over a child’s head, but are funny to college students or parents. The animation in the movie was well done. Warner Brothers Animation was able to take The Lego Movie and improve it. I was thoroughly impressed with how they were able to make animation, while still managing to make it look like real Legos were being used. Lego Batman is voiced over by Will Arnett. There have been many actors to take the place as being the voice of Batman; however, no other actor has had the opportunity to be the Lego version of Batman. When it comes to the voice, Arnett’s version is similar to Christian Bale and his low raspy Dark Knight voice. Arnett being the comedian he is brought laughter to the audience while also committing to the more serious scenes.

The role of the second main character, the Joker, was given to Zach Galifianakis. Galfinianakis is well-known for his acting roles in comedies such as The Hangover and Due Date. Galifianakis successfully filled the long line of voiceover roles for the Joker. His voice did not make the Joker sound as deranged as Mark Hamill’s Joker, although it was fitting for the Lego version. Michael Cera effectively fills the role of orphan Dick Grayson, or as he is better known in the DC Universe, Robin, Batman’s sidekick. Rosario Dawson voiced the role of Commissioner Gordon’s daughter, Barbara Gordon. Dawson’s voice was well fitting to the character. The rest of the cast in The Lego Batman Movie was star studded. Conan O’Brien, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Adam Devine, Billy Dee Williams, Ellie Kemper, and many other famous stars. Director Chris McKay is not known for most of his work. His second most well-known directing job, behind The Lego Batman Movie, was some episodes of the Adult Swim show Robot Chicken.
