Because of the incredible amount of detail the animation team put into each and every scene. Director Chris Miller says he and Phil Lord had this as their goal: that if you”froze any single frame out of the movie, it would actually be something that you could build yourself.” That’s an awfully ambitious goal for a 100-minute film, but that’s exactly what animators accomplished. Designers were able to utilize digital versions of every brick in Lego’s expansive library, says lead animator David Williams. You get a pretty good sense of that if you pause a particularly action-packed scene in the movie, and it’s even easier to see when you look at a render like this one:Miller wanted everything animated using real (well, real digital, anyway) Lego bricks, and that’s what the CG team gave him. Supervisor Aidan Sarsfeld says that “the film itself is not a cheat. It’s a real Lego block film, all of the things that you see on the screen are 100% Lego blocks.” When you see a wide shot of a cityscape containing dozens or even hundreds of buildings in the film?

Sarsfeld assures that each and every one of them is made entirely out of bricks — even down to the smallest of details, like bird cages, garden boxes, and lamps. Miller and Lord didn’t want to sacrifice any realism just because they weren’t stop-motion animating actual bricks. They made sure that bricks in the movie had to look just like yours — with slight color variations, the odd fingerprint smudge, even chips, cracks, and battle damage (most of us have a Benny or two in our collections). A lot of time was spent studying real Lego and photographing them with macro lenses to give every scene the look of something that had been assembled by hand. Now that you’ve had a behind-the-scenes look, why not see if Miller and Sarsfeld are telling the truth? Go pause your favorite scene and see if you can’t construct an exact replica. subscribe to our newsletter: Subscribing to a newsletter indicates your consent to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. - 2 years 11 months ago

This Walkthrough will contain videos, collectible locations and more for the 15 levels of The LEGO Movie Videogame.Anyone who's even glanced at a bike knows the troubles of helmet hair, but now it's time to embrace it.No, not with a crappily quashed quiff, but with this LEGO hair helmet, the ONLY cycling accessory you need.Crafted by a pair of DDB colleagues with the help of Danish design firm MOEF, the helmet - which will transform you into your favourite minifigure, or a pre-2010 Justin Bieber - was made with the hope of encouraging kids to wear helmets.Forget kids though, we'd sport this on our noggin.Having popped up on Imgur earlier this week, the LEGO hair helmet has quickly become a viral internet hit.So, where can you get one? Well, er, sadly, that's where the couple of catches come in.Firstly, that's not LEGO hair at all, it's actually modelled on a Playmobil character. Secondly, the helmet's still only a prototype meaning you're not going to be able to strap one to your head any time soon.

Offering a slight glimmer of hope, however, creator Simon Higby spoke to Metro on whether a full production run was on the cards, saying: "I would love to do that."In need of a LEGO fix? To unlock all The Lego Movie Videogame playable Vehicles, you basically have to finish the Story Mode levels and find the 5 minikits/golden manuals — needed for building them in The Bonus Room hub area — that are hidden in each level; which is made easy with the help of our “The Lego Movie Videogame Gold Instruction Pages Locations Guide”. How To Get Unlocked Vehicles For Play: The building platform for making vehicles is in The Bonus Room. The Bonus Level is located in the open world hub. You can find it by going into any Hub Area such as “The Old West” and then stepping into the rainbow-colored portal to go visit “The Bonus Room”. That’s where you’ll find the entrance to the Bonus Level by selecting it from the list of available Hub Areas. You can then build the vehicles you’ve unlocked (with our tips from this page) — by activating the building platform in the middle of the bedroom — to bring up the vehicle grid and selecting them to build them. After that you can finally play around with them.
