US Theatrical: Feb 07, 2014US Home Media: Jun 17, 2014 20th All Time, 42nd This WeekFranchise: LEGOCharacters on BTVA: 41Behind the scenes of The Lego Movie Nice four-minute video about how the creators of The Lego Movie used CGI to make the movie look like it was 100% constructed with real Lego bricks with fingerprints and everything and animated in stop motion. I’ve watched it twice with my kids, and The Lego Movie was way better than it had any right to be. They so easily could have bollocksed the whole thing up. Maybe the secret is Chris Pratt? Guardians of the Galaxy was better than it should have been as well. I’m bearish on Jurassic World, but come on Indy! The LEGO Batman Movie US Theatrical: Feb 10, 2017 196th All Time, 6th This WeekFranchises: LEGO, BatmanCharacters on BTVA: 46The LEGO Movie didn’t quite receive the universal acclaim many thought it would get while it was in development, but there’s no question that it was a fun flick. There are still plenty of people who absolutely loved the movie because it was packed full of action, cute comedy and plenty of big-name stars as well.

If you’re a fan of the movie, you’ll undoubtedly be interested in a fantastic behind-the-scenes look at the making of The LEGO Movie, which was posted on YouTube recently by Warner Bros. Pictures. DON’T MISS: How to find out if Superfish infected your computer – and what to do about it In the short behind-the-scenes feature, directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller walk us through some of their process, and it’s incredible to see how much time and thought went into it. For instance, did you know that each and every object shown on screen is made entirely of digital representations of actual LEGO pieces? In other words, every single thing you see on screen in the movie from start to finish, from the buildings to the water and everything in between, could be made in real life with actual LEGO pieces. The quick 4-minute feature with Lord and Miller is embedded below. And for a fun bonus, we’ve also included a year-old outtakes reel. If you haven’t already seen it, enjoy:

When actors sign on to portray animated characters, most fans think they just record their dialogue and that's it. However, there is much more to the process, as Chris Pratt explains in a new featurette for The Lego Movie. The actor provides the voice of Lego builder Emmet, who is chosen to lead a team of heroes to stop an evil tyrant from destroying their universe. Although the character is just a tiny figure, the voice actor explains how his recording sessions were also captured on video, so that the animators could implement his facial expressions into Emmet. We also hear from Liam Neeson (Good Cop/Bad Cop) and Will Ferrell (President Business), alongside new footage from this animated comedy, in theaters February 7.Best of the Web RelatedLEGO Movie 2 Will Be an Epic Space Action Movie Says DirectorMeet Jackie Chan as Master Wu in LEGO Ninjago MovieLego Movie 2 Gets Trolls Director Mike MitchellLEGO Batman Movie Gotham Cribs Video Goes Inside Wayne ManorNew Lego Batman Movie Sneak Peek Unites Super Friends and FoesLEGO Batman Movie Poster

In the animated children's comedy, a repressive overlord (voiced by Will Ferrell) is so maniacal about controlling the residents of Bricksburg that he has a weapon designed to glue all the pieces of their world together, putting an end to freestyle play.

From the same team that worked on The Lego Movie comes The Lego Batman Movie, an animated adventure with Batman as the leading superhero. Will Arnett reprises his role as the superhero, portrayed here as a stubborn vigilante refusing to have any help. In the new movie, Batman is faced with the challenge of taking down Gotham City’s biggest threat, the Joker (Zach Galifianakis).

Desperate to defeat the colorful culprit, Batman must learn to sacrifice his pride and work with others to keep Gotham City safe. The new group of characters ready to battle alongside Batman includes Ralph Fiennes’ loyal Alfred Pennyworth, Rosario Dawson’s brave Batgirl and Michael Cera’s sidekick Robin. Find out more about the performers below. Will Arnett reprises his role from The Lego Movie as the voice of the film’s leading character, Batman/Bruce Wayne. While in the first film, Batman added a comic relief and helped Emmet (Chris Pratt) take down evil tyrant Lord Business (Will Ferrell), this time around Batman has his own big-screen adventure. Batman returns to save Gotham City from being taken over by the Joker (Zach Galifianakis). Arnett also voiced characters in Despicable Me and Ratatouille. Jenny Slate voices the Joker’s confidant, the mischievous Harley Quinn. It's not her first time voicing a role. She also is Tammy on the TV series Bob’s Burgers and had voice roles in The Secret Life of Pets (as the voice of Gidget) and Zootopia (as the voice of Bellwether).

Slate will also voice a role in Despicable Me 3, set for release in June. Oscar nominee Ralph Fiennes voices the character Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne’s childhood legal guardian and butler in the DC Comics and action films. Never failing to provide comical relief with his somewhat sarcastic attitude, Pennyworth guides Bruce as he carries out his superhero duties. Fiennes recently voiced a character in Kubo and the Two Strings. Barbara Gordon, the daughter of police commissioner James Gordon and who later becomes fellow crime fighter Batgirl, is voiced by Rosario Dawson. Dawson next stars as Claire Temple in the Netflix original series The Defenders, premiering later this year. Zach Galifianakis will voice Batman’s best-known foe, the Joker. In the film, the Joker attempts to take over Gotham City, but not without facing Batman first. The Hangover actor will next star in the films Tulip Fever and A Wrinkle in Time. Michael Cera voices Robin, the yang to Batman/Bruce’s yin.
