Just CLICK HERE to be added!!Ghostbusters and Ace Ventura Actress Alice Drummond Has Died At 88 I think we can pretty much all agree that 2016 has become an emotional meat grinder. Over the course of the last 12 months we have had to say goodbye to some of the biggest and most iconic names in film, television, and music. That being said, it seems that we've also had to bid farewell to more obscure performers who similarly had enormous impacts on pop culture. As painful as that routine has become, we must do it one more time before 2016 comes to a close, as we've just learned that legendary character actress Alice Drummond has sadly passed away. According to a new report from EW, it appears that Alice Drummond passed away on Wednesday in New York City. 88-years-old at the time of her passing, Ms. Drummond developed a long and prestigious career without ever really headlining any major movies.

Although you may not necessarily have known her name during her life, you very likely recognized her from her roles in films like Ghostbusters (the original, not Paul Feig's recent remake), Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Doubt, Synecdoche, New York, and To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar. Alice Drummond's work as a character actress also frequently carried over into the small screen world as well. Over the course of her career as a television actress, she had the opportunity to appear in series such as Dark Shadows, Boston Legal, Spin City, and Law & Order -- to name a small portion of her extensive filmography. Her talents extended far beyond working on the screen too. In addition to her work as a screen actress, Alice Drummond also regularly performed on Broadway in the earlier years of her career. The woman simply had a knack for performance. Of course, I have to note that fact that -- as a child of the 1990s -- I will always remember Alice Drummond as Ray Finkle's deranged mother from Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
