In the irreverent spirit of fun that made "The LEGO Movie" a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble - LEGO Batman - stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker's hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.Tons of fun, for the whole family. VOX Cinemas, Marina Mall, Novo Cinemas, Abu Dhabi Mall, Star Cineplex, Oscar Cinema, Star Bawadi Cinema, Cine Royal, Dalma Mall, Star Al Wahda Cinema, Novo Cinemas World Trade Centre Mall-Abu Dhabi, VOX Cinemas, Yas Mall, Cine Royal, Deerfields Mall, VOX Cinemas, Nation Towers The stand-out character from 2014’s The Lego Movie gets his own big screen spin-off, and treats the entire exercise with the same bonkers and hilarious high-concept anarchy that first made him such a triumph. The set-up is simple: when Rosario Dawson takes over as Police Chief and promises the citizens of Gotham there will be no more of this superhero vigilante nonsense, it sends Will Arnett’s Caped Crusader into a downward spiral.

Lonely and frustrated (in one of the movie’s lovely light touches, Batman can’t work out how to play his cherished Jerry Maguire DVD on his fancy new smart TV), and with his long-time nemesis The Joker (Zach Galifianakis) giving him grief, his life then gets really complicated when he accidentally adopts a little orphan boy (Michael Cera) who insists on becoming his partner in anti-crime. Like its original, The Lego Batman Movie works on many levels. And if it’s not as emotionally engaging as, say, a Pixar, that’s not really its MO. This is meta, modern movie-making with a glint in its eye and its tongue wedged firmly in its cheek. And it works a treat. The bottom line Tons of fun, for the whole family.
