Cons Do not compensate good work ethic. Advice to Management Take of your good staff, that make the company move forward. 26 Feb, 2017 I have been working at The Brick full-time Pros Challenging Work environment, and room for advancement. Many contests and incentive to strive further. The amount of work they expect does not reflect the salary given for managers. Advice to Management Higher budgets for more office and warehouse employees. Days off should be a day OFF and not a 'day to be away and still take numerous calls' 19 Feb, 2017 Pros good team to work withfamilyfree lunches on VIP days Cons hecticstay over time to finish tasksnot enough workers Advice to Management hire more workers Is this helpful?

The community relies on everyone sharing – Add Anonymous Review 13 Feb, 2017 Helpful (1) I have been working at The Brick full-time (More than a year) Pros The best part about this job is helping customers pick out their furniture and appliances. Our location attracts a fair number of newcomers and I experience the joy of people furnishing their first homes on a daily basis. Also, there is cool stuff like new TVs and soundbars to play with and regular training and product knowledge on these products. Cons The cons far outweigh the pros:Management: they have little training and little or no empathy with staff and customers. Most managers at our location run the place like mini-Dictators with a 'my way or the highway' autocratic way of functioning disregarding their own company's policy. There is constant drama with sales staff and customers on a daily basis. Also, there is Senior Staff whose only job apart from hogging sales is to bully the new associates- in direct contradiction to the Senior program which is about mentoring new staff.

mission structure has been scaled back so unless you have good traffic at your location there would be many days where you make nothing before you go home. Low pay and long waiting times for customers don't make the job worth it. Advice to Management Know before you speak - understand company policy and agree amongst yourselves first as to what it means before you communicate it to the general staff.Level the playing field for all staff by dismantling existing power structures. This way new people won't quit after a week or two in sales there. 30 Jan, 2017 I worked at The Brick full-time Pros Very laid back and open management team. Friendly environment for the most part. Tough at first but once you start making connections with clients, things begin to roll out smoothly Cons Information can at first seem daunting but after you pick up on the details, it becomes easier. Staff can sometimes be real moody and packed with an attitude. Advice to Management Keep it up. Provide more training for new staff members.

Compensation rate should be increased in my opinion. 28 Jan, 2017 I have been working at The Brick full-time (Less than a year) Pros Most of the time I can work at my own pace, no guilt tripping for making a coffee or taking a washroom break. Working independently at most times - unless needing managerial approval. Cons Customer service is complicated - training isn't very in depth and when you ask questions management gets annoyed and acts like you should already know. Management gets promoted without enough training as well, they're stressed - so they stress you out.Working with third party services such as vendors, technicians and delivery service means less control of products and services for our customers.Brick policies are very strict. Advice to Management Management is all sales - very little customer service. It would be great to see managers being more flexible to the customers. 1 Mar, 2017 I worked at The Brick full-time (More than a year) Pros Not many pros to be honest, but there is a potential of making very good money in this store if you are very greedy, rude, and if you can bring your own customers to the store.

If you can speak a second language or a language based on the community that lives around the store, you can increase the chances of getting a deal. Cons It's a full commission place with very few customers that are serious buyers.Expect to fight for deals and for customers with your co-workers, because of lack of customers and the store has very bad reviews from pretty much every review site.Expect to do cleaning of the area, and other duties you didn't signed up for free Advice to Management Respect your workers, and get more serious when it comes to training your new employees 7 Feb, 2017 I worked at The Brick full-time (More than 3 years) Pros Good commission rate if you can make it there , good benefit plan, some good teammates. Cons Very slow at times, competition can take a twisted level that can be very intimidating to new comers. 21 Jan, 2017 Pros Unlimited earning potential as it is all commission based.Cons Depending on the location of your store, might not generate enough traffic.

Possibility of earning $0. Advice to Management Reducing the percentage of the commission was a bad choice. Employees need to earn a living. 3 Jan, 2017 I worked at The Brick full-time Pros Working for The Brick in Collingwood ON. made me feel as if I was working with family. The franchised location provided me with everything I needed to support my family and all the tools were made available to better your product knowledge to keep ourselves ahead of the game. Thanks for having me as part of your team. Cons Not really a con but the more you put in the more you get out. Hard work pays off and not so hard work well....you know the rest. “Long story short we got our beds delivered next day and have been sleeping wonderfully ever since.” “I dropped by sleepy's since it was so close by where I lived and got greeted by Jean-Claude.” “I got my mattress and adjustable base from sleepy's. I am so happy now.” Yelp users haven’t asked any questions yet about Mattress Firm Wall Street.
