Telegram privacy tips

James

Telegram is public mostly, like WhatsApp messenger, you can NOT set a private photo, only visible to your contacts, and total private last seen time. ( Whatsapp has last seen time not mentioned at all, if it is set to not be shown.)

But Telegram has many good things WhatsApp doesn’t have.

Channels for instance.

Every message you send to your contacts or someone with knowing their usernames, can be forwarded to ANYONE. Then the recipient, they can see everything on your Telegram profile. All photos and Bio, and username.

If you can avoid this, you can create a New Channel, from the menu, make it private or public, post the thing you want to share, then forward it from within the Channel itself to your friends and family.

This way, they can’t see your profile pic, info.

You can destroy a channel at anytime you want.
