Employees of the Brahmanbaria court in Bangladesh have gone on an indefinite strike, halting judicial work. The Judicial Employees Association is demanding action over alleged discourteous behavior of lawyers towards judges, interference in judicial work, beatings of employees, and snatching of mobile phones. Meanwhile, since 1 January, lawyers have stopped attending the court of Judge Mohammad Farooq of Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal-1, accusing him of making objectionable comments about lawyers and the Brahmanbaria Bar Association, and demanding his withdrawal. The employees association claims that not only the judge, but also some lawyers have been misbehaving with them.
