The Iranian government may introduce a new policy requiring women to wear hijab inside cars, in addition to open places. The project "Nazar-1" will increase surveillance on women wearing hijab in cars, and the car owner will receive a warning text message if the law is violated. The announcement has not been made official yet, but a senior police officer confirmed the plan. The issue of hijab has caused protests in Iran, including the recent death of Mahsha Amini in police custody. Despite the protests and abolition of the controversial police force, the government may enforce stricter rules on hijab at the beginning of the new year.
