Telegram X Android Group Rules

This unofficial group is dedicated to app testing. It's done by volunteers, so we will not be able to answer general Telegram questions, kindly refer to Twitter or Telegram Support.

We're collecting your feedback, processing and forwarding it to the developer. The developer of Telegram isn't a member of this chat, so he doesn't read your feedback directly. Thank you for understanding. And thank you for your help!

Bug Reports

When reporting bugs, include these things:

• Steps to Reproduce (if you are able to reproduce it);
• Android Version (there are many version-specific issues);
• Device name & manufacturer (there are many device-specific issues);
• App version code (also check if you have the latest version installed). Don’t use terms like “Latest”;
• Screen recording or screenshots with steps to reproduce are highly appreciated;
• For keyboard-related bugs, include keyboard name & version.

❗️Remember: the developer can't fix the bug he can't reproduce.

Bug Report Example

Music player cannot be controlled from the notification.
App version: 742;
Device: OnePlus 5T;
Android: Stock 7.1.1 (OxygenOS 4.7.6);
Steps: Play any music, minimise the app, try to control it from notification bar

❗️Logs settings are located under Settings: tap 10 times app version at the bottom.

Battery issues

If you're experiencing problems with excessive battery consumption, please provide the following information:

- When did you notice this? Did you notice it after a certain update? Which one?
- Do you notice if battery draining happens after certain action or certain amount of time after application start?
- How do you use the app? Only messaging / for video/audio/calls etc
- Are you from the country where the Telegram has been banned?
- How many accounts do you have?
- How many chats?

Also provide screenshots of battery details screen from your device's settings and check the Application and TDLib logs' levels in TGX Debug Settings: they should be set to Assert.

Group Rules

1. Language of this group is English. Don't use other languages for discussions or bug reporting.
2. Don’t flood, don't send too many small messages, don't abuse stickers and gifs. If you got banned, don't ask why from other account. The answer is for flood.
3. If you want to add more information related to your bug report, please edit original message when possible.
4. Don't ask when a bug will be fixed or when a feature will be implemented, we don't share any ETAs.
5. Don’t flood with messages like “still not fixed”, if you didn’t see corresponding bug fix in change log.
6. Please don’t consult others about things regarding app issues you may not know for sure.
7. Don't send private messages to admins unless they request or permit it. Otherwise such messages will be ignored. We will answer to questions only in the public chat.
8. APK sharing is prohibited for testing purposes (i.e. better crash reports).
9. Don't use mentions.
10. Don't expect 24/7 admin attention. Some days feedback will not be processed at all, especially when there's a lot of work on new features, or everyone just have a rest.
11. Remember the rule of thumb, when discussing bugs with others: the fact that it works for you doesn't mean it must work for everyone else and vice versa.
12. Kindly don't post "I have the issue too" or "I don't have the issue" messages when someone submitting a bug. If we require, admins will request the members to reproduce the same for that particular bug.
