Key verification

When a call is initiated, the participating devices exchange encryption keys using the Diffie-Hellman key exchange. After the secure end-to-end connection has been established, you will see four emoji on your screen.

They visualize the encryption key for your call: to make sure that no man-in-the-middle attack can succeed, you and your recipient just need to compare these emoji. If they are the same on your recipient's screen, you can be sure that the call is 100% secure.

If you're into cryptography, you can read more about key verification for Telegram calls here.

Telegram Desktop

Calls are not supported in Telegram Desktop yet, the app will get them eventually.
