We are a UK based family run business that makes environmentally friendly furniture, sourcing sustainable reclaimed materials locally. All of our pieces are “one-off’s” and cannot be found on the high street. Our products are hand-crafted and manufactured using traditional mortise and tenon joints where required, giving supreme strength that will last for decades. Furniture made from reclaimed wood is unique in character i.e. the wood dictates the colour and shape to the carpenter and not vice versa. Using reclaimed materials is a very conscientious and sustainable way to make or buy furniture. With the planets resources at an all time low we all need to think about the effect in which buying mass produced furniture is having on the world’s forests.  Using reclaimed materials will often mean you end up with a piece of unique furniture and also to get the chance to design your very own antique for the future! For my evil lair, now I need one in kitty sizeHutchinson Furniture & Interiors was founded in 1991 and is situated in the Cotswolds, on the Warwickshire/ Oxfordshire border. Hutchinson Furniture and Interiors is committed to providing an excellent service tailored to each client’s personal preferences. Individual pieces and rooms emerge from the simplest themes; hence we encourage meetings with our clients. Design recommendations are submitted in the form of technical drawings for the client’s consideration, comments and approval, and we pride ourselves on our ability to make good use of space. In addition to carefully selected timber from around the world, we also have our own source of English oak from right here in the Cotswolds. Our oak is felled as part of a long established good management of the woodland, and is then seasoned adjacent to our workshops. For every tree felled three new saplings are planted and protected while they establish themselves. Each project is produced by the same maker from start to finish, and in many cases delivered and installed by the maker himself.

We want every client to feel at home and we appreciate that commissioning a piece of work is a hugely personal thing. It takes time to create something perfect. Life is full of contrast; our philosophy allows you complete freedom of expression to bring together many styles, textures, materials, and colours, in order to create your own unique surroundings. Attention to the design and construction of your furniture is most important we appreciate that having commissioned a piece of furniture you will wish to enjoy it for years to come. One of modern life’s greatest luxuries is having the ability to modify our own surroundings. We listen carefully to your brief and offer as much design input as possible to help you to create your perfect home. The kitchen is the hub of your home, one of the most important rooms and a family meeting place. We design your kitchen for you and the way you cook, making the room unique to your personality and needs; a constant pleasure to use.

All our work is bespoke, so your furniture will be unique, with each piece carrying our mark and its own maker’s number. Individual rooms emerge from the simplest of themes; whether you would like us to design a coffee table or plan and build a bedroom, we are happy to help in any way, and each commission is undertaken with the same care and attention. There’s something really quite pleasing about the contrasts between putting light and dark materials together. This is show in the bespoke kitchen we created in Macassar Ebony and American Black Walnut paired with a bright white Corian worktop. This kitchen provides a touch of elegance and simplicity. A warming feeling is created through the use and combination of locally sourced oak and a dark granite worktop. There’s a fantastic feeling of satisfaction when you finish a beautiful project like this one. Using a variety of woods made this an exciting and interesting project to work on. Our client was undertaking a new build project and required functional furniture that’s aesthetically pleasing but would withstand the test of time in a busy household with young children.

The large dresser was designed to act as both a drinks cabinet and extra storage for small and easily missed placed bits and bobs. Our client based in Cheltenham was keen to create a truly unique kitchen that would contrast and compliment their beautiful Georgian townhouse. Marine grade birch ply took center stage in this kitchen. Our client was attracted to the laminating effect around its edge. When sanded and lacquered the edge of the board can be a […] The Master bathroom was our first challenge in this project. Together we paired Crêma Marfil floor and wall tiles with glass splash backs that were back painted in Farrow & Ball Rectory Red and followed around the room at dado rail height, these were lit with an LED light strip. The main focal point of […] The brief was to make a staircase that was clean, contemporary, and slightly edgy. With the attention on the design of the stairs themselves but also with bags of storage underneath. The client wanted to create a contemporary wine cellar with a difference.

The aim of this project was to create beautiful arts and crafts style furniture that fits with the interesting geometric shapes running though out the house. Situated in the beautiful parish of Whichford and Ascott in the North Cotswolds, this project was part of a larger renovation project managed by Hutchinson Furniture and interiors. Visit Hutchinson Furniture's profile on Pinterest. Our Kitchen redesigned and reconstructed from scratch in 2010. Hutchinson Furniture came up with by far the best design ideas and even incorporated a design motif we had used in our hallway doors thus integrating the new with the older part of the house. They stripped the kitchen to bare brick and concrete, even removing the ceiling so as to make installation of 23 light fittings easier. Their builder knocked through to the dining room and re-plastered where needed. Plumber, electricians and a long run by the kitchen fitter followed putting in place the units specified, designed and constructed to order.

Life is disrupted while the process goes on but it is well worthwhile when completed and we are still delighted with the result even after using it for over four years now. We found them at the Grand Design Live Show at the NEC and their work deserves to be up there with the best of Grand Designs.” We asked Hutchinson Furniture to design a bespoke bookcase, corridor table and another table.  The designs were exceptional, the craftsmanship exquisite and they delivered on time and in full.  We are delighted with the results which enhance our home greatly.  Thank you Will Hadland and team Hutchinson.  We will be back! When we decided to extend and design a new kitchen, we thoroughly researched kitchen companies in the Oxfordshire area. It was only after a chance conversation with someone that Hutchinson Furniture was suggested. From the initial enquiring phone call, to a site visit at their showroom and manufacturing unit in Long Compton, we knew we had found the right kitchen company for us.
