This gated community has its own private-access beach pavilion with restrooms and outdoor showers which we really found extremely convenient. Everything you could ask for is available in the well equipped kitchen and the owner is very accommodating. He is easy to contact and very responsive. We especially enjoyed the private, side-patio area downstairs with grill and great seating to just sit, chat and relax. The "children" (grown) thoroughly enjoyed the upstairs outside deck connecting the two bedrooms on the second floor.
The home was perfect for a family reunion for the 5 of us! Emerald Shores is also very convenient to everything with two gated exits which allow for quick access to the main road, Highway 98 and the beach highway, Old Highway 98. Also within walking distance to several of our favorite restaurants - Pompano Joe's, Kenny D's and Captain Dave's and not far from the Crab Shack and Whale's Tail. Several items the kids or grandkids would want to use at the beach such as boogie board, beach chairs, etc. are available as well. Our family reunions are usually larger, but for the size of our group this year, it was perfect! For these reasons we would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it as a great 3 bedroom / 2&1/2 bath house to consider in Destin. The house was clean, spacious, and beautiful. Short walk to the beautiful beach and pool. Close to many stores and restaurants.
