Its prime location—in a secluded gated community at the edge of a canyon in the hills of southern Orange County—is matched by its design, style and ambiance.
The clubhouse pays homage to the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright in its soaring wood-beamed cathedral ceiling lit by skylights, earth-tone slate floors, rich Honduran mahogany paneling, and carved plaster columns. When you hold your special event here you have exclusive use of the entire second floor of the facility. Ceremonies are held in the sunken lounge, whose floor-to-cathedralceiling window suspends you right over the canyon, or on the picturesque outdoor terrace below. Nestled against a wooded hillside that’s tamed only by the occasional box hedge, the terrace meets a free-form pond, ringed by seasonal flowers and natural rock formations. The pond gives way to a waterfall that flows out of sight into the canyon below. The canyon vista is your backdrop—a panorama that extends as far as the eye can see. After the ceremony, you and your photographer will be whisked away in a limo golf cart for some photos in front of the waterfall, while everyone else gets to know each other over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
Take your time—your guests will be busy enjoying the splendor of the clubhouse. The clubhouse lobby and adjacent Ballroom easily accommodate a large event, and they also work well for intimate gatherings. Cozy sitting areas in the lobby are flanked by double-sided fireplaces, and the sunken lounge demonstrates its versatility. Thanks to tinted glass, it stays cool even on the brightest day, making it a great spot not only for a small ceremony, but for dancing or showcasing the cake, too. The Ballroom itself is a marvelously conceived space. One wall of floor-to-ceiling windows overlooks the 18th fairway and frames that gorgeous canyon view. Fireplaces blaze at both ends, and a skylight in the peaked ceiling adds more natural light. The warm feeling in the room is enhanced even further by abundant wood detailing and a plush, burgundy and brushed-gold carpet. Adjustable lighting allows you to control the mood, and with candles on the tables and fireplace mantels, romance will definitely be in the air.
Three other rooms are available for rehearsal dinners, showers or brunches. Like the rest of the facility, they benefit from the warmth of wood, natural light and terrific canyon views. In addition to a remarkably beautiful clubhouse and setting, Dove Canyon is very flexible: If none of their packages suits you, they’ll customize one for you. As we said, this country club will exceed your expectations. CEREMONY CAPACITY: Indoors, the Sunken Lounge holds up to 175 seated; outdoors the Terrace seats up to 250. EVENT/RECEPTION: The Ballroom accommodates up to 280 seated or 500 standing guests. MEETING CAPACITY: Meeting spaces seat 250. A nonrefundable deposit, which is applied to your food & beverage total, is required to reserve your date. The amount of the deposit is equal to 25% of the estimated event total. Additional 25% deposits are due 6 months and 3 months prior to the event, and the remaining balance is due 7 days prior. There are no rental fees. Tax and a 20% service charge are additional.
