Built originally in 1918, the Davie School was the first permanent school house in Broward County. The latest addition to The Old Davie School Historical Museum grounds is available for one-hour wedding ceremonies. Located in the Jambolan Plum Tree Grove, the amphitheater provides seating for up to 200 guests.The authentic hut is available for five-hour reception and cocktail events. This setting can accommodate up to 200 guests. What You Should Know When couples choose the Old Davie School Historical Museum for their wedding ceremony and reception, they will be renting the property only. It is recommended that the couple seek the services of an event coordinator to assist with securing vendors for other services.The rental fee provides for one hour of rehearsal time during the week prior to the wedding. The rehearsal must be scheduled during the Old Davie School Historical Museum's regular hours. The rehearsal time is subject to availability and scheduling.Set-up time is included in the rental of the property. One hour of cleanup time is provided as well. Museum event staff will assemble and break down tables and chairs.
The staff at the Old Davie School Historical Museum has a preferred list of vendors that they have worked closely with in the past. These vendors have proven to be professional, friendly and experienced. Couples may choose vendors from this preferred list. However, it is acceptable for couples to hire their own vendors. All vendors must provide copies of any current licenses and insurance.All events at the Old Davie School Historical Museum must end by midnight. If additional time is needed, an hourly fee will be assessed and deducted from the damage deposit.The Old Davie School Historical Museum is an authentic historical location. There will be no decor or fixtures that will injure or mar the property in any way. The use of glitter, confetti, live plants, candles, fog machines, matches or flames of any kind are not permitted on the premises. Rice and artificial flower petals are not allowed. No nails, staples, glue, tape or tacks may be used in any manor.Any caterers employed by the couple must provide copies of public liability insurance to the facility.
Caterers will have access to the kitchen area. However, cooking is not allowed within the Old Davie School Historical Museum.Smoking is not allowed inside of the Old Davie School Historical Museum. It is not allowed near the entrances of the museum. There are outside designated smoking areas.If alcoholic drinks are served at the reception, it is the responsibility of the couple to obtain the services of bartending and wait staff. Beverage staff must have appropriate licenses and permits as required by the State of Florida. No kegs are allowed. Try to look past the dirt marks and other things like that when you're viewing the venue. It's an OLD building. When the lights are dim you will not... Awesome place for an outdoor wedding and reception I used the Old Davie School as both my wedding and reception location. If you are looking for a park type atmosphere for a wedding, and a nice, different indoor reception hall for an excellent price then this is the place. We had our ceremony in the recently built outdoor... Be aware of this place. I just got married, they took my deposit and then they didn't let me take a coach to sit on and they were suppose to inspect. What's the point of taking my deposit if you don't allow the furniture I need?
