Building Rental for Events Wedding Venues Des Moines Johnston Iowa – The Johnston Lions Club community building, located at NW 64th Place and Merle Hay Road, is available for rental for weddings, receptions, parties, meetings, and other functions. For these events, renters are able to use a caterer of their choice. Capacity of the building is 250. Blank Golf Course – Banquets (causal events only) With a driving range and a mini golf course this facility ensures a great event from start to finish. The spacious banquet room features its own entrance and a patio over looking the pond and the 18th hole green. You won’t leave wanting more as this venue can accommodate up to 300 guests.
The rental includes the following: Tables and chairs: set up and tear down for seating up to 280 guests White linen table cloths: Black or white napkins Use of our outdoor terrace with a spectacular view of the 18th green. We ask for a $750 donation to cover our costs, which includes use of the building for 5 hours, use of the kitchen, table covers, setup and cleanup. We ask for an additional donation of $100/hour for any use of the building after 5 hours. We do require half of the cost to reserve the building (plus a damage deposit), with the rest of the donation due before the event. Rates can vary depending on the day of the week, holidays, and whether admission is charged for the event.

There is a maximum of 200 people.How soon do we need to reserve space?
A: A minimum of one month's notice is required to book an event at the ARL. However, it is never too early.Can we bring in our own caterer?A: All catering must be approved by the ARL and we can assist you in finding a caterer if needed.Is there a deposit required to reserve space at the ARL?A: Yes, a non-refundable deposit, 25% of the rental fee, that is applied to the room rental is required at the signing of the contract.Do I need to bring my own audio visual equipment?A: The ARL has audio visual equipment available for use by our guests. Discuss your needs with the ARL staff when booking your event. There is a rental fee for this equipment.Can we decorate the room for our event?A: Yes, but all decorations must be pre-approved by the ARL.Can we have a band or DJ?A: Yes, you can have music at your event. Talk with an ARL representative to discuss specific details. We do not allow fog or bubble machines, strobe, laser or cop lights in the building, for the safety of the animals.Does the ARL serve alcohol?
A: Yes, the ARL can handle all of your beer, wine and wine cooler needs. However, our liquor license does not provide for liquor. Speak with your ARL representative for more information.Is there a security charge?A: The ARL requires use of security at any event that is dispensing alcoholic beverages and/or is using any of the outdoor facilities/ premises after normal ARL business hours. There is a charge for security that is to be coordinated between the renter and the security provider. When not in use for parish functions, our parish hall and classrooms may be available for rent to parishioners. Because of the large number of sports teams in the Ankeny area, and the multitude of our own parish activities, regretfully, we can not make our facility available to sports teams. The parish hall is available for wedding receptions, anniversary parties, retirement parties, etc. It can be walled off with just the Banquet Room and Kitchen or the Multi-Purpose Room (gym) and Kitchen or the entire area can be opened up into one large space.

Other events may also require this insurance, at the discretion of the parish office.We welcome the Knights of Columbus sponsored Boy Scouts belonging to Pack 237 to use our facility for meetings.We also have classrooms available for meetings and small gatherings.
