It grows with your child as it can be used as a regular chair, eventually. Keekaroo is a very conscious company, so you know great efforts are made in keeping this a people safe product in terms of materials and chemicals used and not used. My 6.5 month old chunky boy uses the chair with ease without the infant insert as a back pad is included with chair. The company has very responsive customer service which is an added bonus. Unfortunately our baby's thighs are too far for the insert, the bottom of the tray hits the top of her thighs.
Lol Shes six months soon and 20 pounds! So we went straight to the cushion set and it's great! The customer service of baby earth is fabulous! Keep up the great work guys! He's only four months and it seems to me he sits a little high up with the infant insert, but it's very cushy and he seems fine. I also bought the comfort cushion seat which should be handy when he is a little older. The removable plastic food tray is a nice addition--you can easily keep the table clean. It's a very sturdy piece of furniture which I expect will be around for a long time since it converts as the child grows. At least that's what my daughter liked about it. I wish we had gone with the natural, which might have avoided that problem. This is a great product so far.
